Since I know that my calories have been the same, and I am an experienced logger, I know that overeating is not the cause. Also, I have been in a calorie deficit (2300 to maintain my weight) so even if I have been, for example, eating 100 extra a day, or 200 extra a day, I should still have lost around half a pound, not…

Yep, here we go again for sure. Someone posting the same old sarcastic response without actually properly reading the thread or giving it any thought.
-
Eldamiano, are you a troll or did you wake up on the wrong side of bed this morning? I'm not going to respond to any more of your posts. MFP is a place for support and this morning I've seen you go from post to post to post trying to provoke people.
-
You are not adding anything helpful at all to this conversation. I have already stated that my calories are the same. No, I am NOT overeating. I am still in a deficit. Please don't tell me what I believe and what my objectives are. You clearly haven't read my post properly.
-
No...I don't know why it is. I don't recognise the cause.

I tried to appease her with a Japanese restaurant that has the calorie counts, and she was like 'what is wrong with [the one she suggested?' I told her I didn't really like that stuff, which she knows, and she was like, well you just suggested the Japanese one which is the same thing (it's not, it's more like healthy, less…

I definitely think it could be less than accurate, and it's something I'm working on. I'm a work in progress! The first week, I measured out a proper tablespoon for the first time, and it turned out I had been eating about 2x the amount of peanut butter I thought I was! haha. However, I have been consistent since day one,…

Lose body fat. But, while you are doing that, preserve as much existing muscle mass as possible through weight training. Deep squats (look up goblet squats) will fire up the glutes specifically, high step ups, hip thrust (start with glute bridge to perfect your form) and LUNGES! They have worked the best for me. I'll see…
-
Yeah, you're right. I will give it a few more weeks and monitor the results, see what happens. :)

1.2lbs
-
Aah, that's about 10 weeks right? Well, in 8 weeks I get to see my boyfriend again, so I guess I'd like to be in the high 180s then. Currently 199. He's only ever known me between 200-210 :)
-
wow, 160lbs! I guess I'm looking at 50lbs, so it might not happen....in any case, I'm going to take weight training seriously to do the best I can to avoid it!
-
I literally don't know where to start. @midwesterner85, don't sweat it. You get to eat more and lose at a good pace, that's a good thing, don't worry too much about what did or didn't happen. I have had success eating higher calories (2000 as opposed to 1600-1700) when I paired it with HEAVY lifting. Didn't change my…

Yeah. What is it with you and that book?

I went from 193lbs to 175lbs eating about 1200 calories a day which was nowhere near enough for me, and I eventually rebounded. This is my 175lbs body! (I'm a touch under 5'8). For some reason, I'm wearing a dress that's about two sizes two big. I didn't have a flat stomach at all so I was paranoid about it…

I want a hot boyfriend.

i mean, not having monitored you for the entire time, I really can't say. There are just too many things that are the real culprit of weight gain, not eating less.
-
Haha, if only. From what I recall, it was 'created' buy a Cambridge University Professor.
-
Maybe your scale broke!
-
No idea. I'm by no means an expert. But there are lots of variables that could have affected weight. You say you felt hungrier - is it possible that you (even subconsciously) cut down on cardio due to lack of energy? 1680 is not a lot of calories - I eat more than that! Last week I cut my calories and I was so tired from…

Really, in order to GAIN weight, you need to be taking in more calories than you were expending. You cannot consume LESS and gain weight, just like you drink more alcohol and get less drunk. It really is that simple. @sridharj23, I'm willing to bet that the lack of protein in your wife's diet before led to her consuming…

Lol no. I'm saying I hate *hearing* people say that more than when they talk about starvation mode. Your body doesn't 'cling' to fat, and it takes a heck of a lot of work (and time) to build muscle.
-
Things I hate more than 'starvation mode': 1. "Maybe your body is clinging on to fat" 2. "Help! I've gained 3lbs even though I've been eating 1200 calories. I did go for a run three times this week though, maybe I've built muscle?"

I kind of knew this thread would turn into why I shouldn't do it, and so I was reluctant to post it. I wanted to hear people's specific experiences of being on the Cambridge Weight Plan. To me, there is most definitely such thing as a "kickstart". It means experiencing good results in a shorter amount of time, to help with…

Hahaha, haters gon' hate!

This is the UK site, but I looked at these ones and ended up getting a 2 portion. http://www.georgeforeman.co.uk/compact-grills/#.VDZfRfl4rYh I'm sure there are other great brands too though :)

Hip hop and locking. Very intense class/rehearsal schedule and I'm constantly struggling to get enough rest! Here I am in a class:

But I think also, people rarely discuss it without making a lot of assumptions. They assume we don't know we're fat. They assume we're not doing anything about it. I had a conversation with a friend of mine the other day who is a stuntman, and has to gain/lose weight for roles. I told him about cutting my calories, and he…

On the positive side, one guy at my organisation, from Africa, told me I had 'an amazing physique'. I treasured that moment, because ain't nobody from the western world ever gonna tell me that! haha

The other culprit? My boss. And some of my coworkers. I work in a very multi-cultural office where it's the norm to comment on how women look. I find it really offensive. One woman once came up to me going 'what happened to you? Your weight! You put on so much weight!' I had gained like, 5lbs.
