If you're simply looking to lose weight, sure, a calorie is just a calorie and a caloric deficit will get you to where you want to be, eventually. If you're working toward a competition body or elite athletic status, what you're getting calories from matters a whole lot more. There are a lot of "experts" on this site. Most…

This is such a strange question. You're not crippled while on your cycle. Come prepared with extra pads/tampons and get to work. You're fully capable of working out as usual. Your flow may be heavier but that's nothing you can't handle.

My husband earns more than I do and likely always will due to his line of work (engineer), but he'd support me and be so proud of me if I landed a job with a higher salary than his. He's supportive and wants to see me doing something I love that gives me value. If that's making $25k a year or $250k a year, he doesn't care.…

I can't believe there is even a question in your mind as to which is better. Obv, Blizzards. I'm partial to the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup

I agree with other posters that he should definitely be in a cut right now. Part of the beauty of just starting out is what we call "newbie gains". Within the first 6 months to a year, a newbie can see substantial strength improvements if they are diligent about lifting while also maintaining a caloric deficit. This also…

I'm 6' but doctors like to tell me I'm 5'10". Last time one tried, I made her measure me again. Was 6' even. They're not the most reliable source.

720lbs is my heighest thus far. Aiming for the 990 by the end of the year! BTW, muscle swells after workouts during the recovery process, so that's all you could be seeing. I can easily fluctuate a couple lbs up after an intense leg day and my legs are tighter and swollen. The outcome, however, is leaner, sexier legs.

This is the part where it becomes a "lifestyle". It takes work and dedication. My husband and I can easily spend 2-3 hours a night in the kitchen doing food prep, cooking dinner and doing dishes. We've been doing this for many years and there's no end in sight. Just gotta prep stuff for a couple days at a time. Cooked…

I would suggest a little compromise. You try to eat on a schedule slightly later than normal and pick foods that are filling for long periods of time (high protein, fiberous carbs, good fats) and then have dinner ready and on the table by 6:15. If he isn't home by then, you can leave his on a plate in the microwave and he…

It isn't Cosmo who's setting the standard, people. It's fashion designers. In today's view of models, Cindy Crawford would be considered plus sized because she's curvy.

I married one!

My cut has already started, so while I'll enjoy some time with my husband and friends, I will not be partaking in the goodies or booze.
-
And this is the problem. Life isn't about what you own. You can't take any of it with you when you're dead, anyway

My a**hole sister and her husband decided to move their family (my two handsome nephews) to Illinois two weeks before Christmas so I won't be seeing them. Secretly hoping it doesn't work out there so they decide to come back to CO for good. I'm selfish.

25" last I measured! I think muscular, "thick" thighs are hot.

You're short, aren't you?

Recently finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and still deciding what to start next. I don't have a ton of time to read so I get a little annoyed when I waste my time on a book that is just so-so.
-
My parents really went above and beyond for Christmas every year, so I tend to be the same way. Also, our son lives with his mom in another state and is our only so it's easy to buy him lots of gifts. He's getting 7 gifts he said he wanted off his list, plus we'll send some clothes and books. He's also getting presents…

Good grief, this place is full of hot heads. Please allow me first, to point out, I am a female. Second, I LOL'd at people stating they don't do bicep curls or flies as if they aren't important. It's accessory/ISO work, and accessory/ISO work is important. Whatever form you chose, that's your business. You'll notice I…
-
LOL at everyone who doesn't curl or fly. Remember people, accessory work is also good for you. I like to hit my compounds first and then finish out the fatigue with accessory/iso work. My strength has increased quite well in my compound lifts with a combination of both. Curl - 30-35lb dumbbells, 45-60lb barbells Fly -…

I struggled with the fact that my calves were so muscular for a long time as I was growing up and always thought that working them would help, and it did, but only by a .5" to .75" at most. You see, some people have muscular calves, some have muscular arms, some legs are long, some are short, some are tan, some are pale...…

No, but I like to tell people in the gym I did after I hear them blow their nose or some sort of disgusting *kitten*. If you do it, please just respect others and don't do it in public showers.

Heck yes! I missed Black Friday shopping last year because I was in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Will be in Salt Lake City so likely hitting one of the malls there, Best Buy, Target, Victoria Secret and either ****'s or Sports Authority. Have nothing in particular I want to buy, but I'm sure I'll stumble across…

Uh... CO does have state income tax.

IMO, I'd lift over cardio, but I don't have a love of cardio like is sounds like you do. That and like you mentioned, long term, you'll burn more calories throughout the day if you lift regularly, along with a whole slew of other health benefits. I'd aim for 2-3 lifting sessions a week doing either a full body or…
