But...but...lifting weights makes women bulky!! Well done! I'll post up some when I get back to my PC :).

That's pretty much my normal workout exactly (including the rows), other than the fact that I alternate squats and deads. I also normally (currently nursing a repaired shattered collar bone) do weighted chin ups and weighted dips. It would normally go something like... Monday: Squat, bench, dips Wednesday: Deads, rows,…

Absolutely. I mean the list is slight overkill, but it's WAY better to be overinformed than under. I only use 7-8 of those exercises. I would also add in rows.

I would also recommend getting in some time on a beginner's program before stepping up. An injury due to inexperience and poor form is going to set you back MUCH farther than the few months you might spend doing Stronglifts or Starting Strength.

I was just teasing you. Drink your water (or not, but if you follow the next part of my commentary you'll wish you did!) and eat all the protein you want people, seriously...it's not going to hurt you in the least.

Double post.

VERY well played miss! Very well played!! That was weird! When I hear OMG...it's never been followed by 'you made me giggle'...lol. Oh, wait...wrong thread! Sooo...on topic...I've been known to pick up a weight or two on occasion.

Hidden valley ranch mix lol.

Actually, too much protein absolutely will turn into fat. As will too many carbs. So does...wait for it...too much fat! Eat at a calorie deficit, and none of this horrific alchemy is going to happen to you (plural) lol.

Hey Mirey!...that's pretty much my goal body shape etc lol. Not a fan of that giraffe neck thing he's got going on though =p.

Do not include your walking...as it should be included in your activity level. Include things you do above and beyond your daily routine. Now, if you go for a long walk on a Sunday afternoon that you normally wouldn't...feel free to log it if you like. Walking all day at work though, is something you normally do and so…

I think some people misunderstand when other people say you don't lose weight when you build muscle. First...almost none of them are building muscle anyhow. Second...when you're strength training the weight you're losing is primarily fat, which is lighter than muscle (the first person who tries to correct me with that 1lb…

Absolutely, depending on how you define lifting heavy. Only if they are performed at a level where you fail within 5-8 reps.

She is absolutely not going to build any measurable amount of muscle, no matter how overweight she is. She doesn't have the testosterone for it even if it were possible otherwise. Even slightly measurable newbie gains are really only going to happen in men on a really good lifting program, and usually only for the first…

This is an excellent question. Look at the amount of muscle you have as your strength 'potential'...not how strong you are. What you're actually doing when strength training on a calorie deficit, is training your BRAIN to more effectively use that muscle. It does this by (loosely put) growing little nervous pathways…

Video...Lisa, you swore to me you burned that... Ugh!

As thecakelocker said, you will see a FAR greater difference in your body by strength training and eating on a calorie deficit than by doing cardio and eating on a calorie deficit. Ignore the scale, it's only good for very loosely tracking trends. Believe me, find those groups I mentioned, ask your question in there. You…

Dude!! You promised you'd never say a word about that night ever again!

Hell yes. Have you seen my face?!

^^^ What he said. ^^^ Not what he said. Seriously, none of the things you're doing or discussing doing in your OP will build any muscle for you (and it's questionable how much lean mass they'll even help retain)...so if that's what your concern is, don't worry. If you'd like to really get yourself burning fat, I'd consider…

Of course it can be repaired. Doing the opposite of what damaged it is all it takes. It's advisable to do it in increments in order not to balloon up, but yep...what you've (plural) done, can absolutely be undone :). The human body is an amazing thing!

♥ freakin ♥♥! Thanks love :)

LOTS of awesome commentary in this thread! The gym is always a good place to be, and if you can afford it I highly recommend it. It's often a nice motivator to see others working hard...and the atmosphere is usually purposefully designed to promote motivation as well. If you CAN'T afford it, or time/distance etc is an…
