When I'm at the end of day slump, tired, bored and wanting to graze, I'm sad to say I have no energy for working out, but I'm ok with sticking on a pair of cordless headphones, and walking up and down whilst 'watching' evening tv

It's a confectionary hug, self medication with food. Where to start.... I'm a recovered bulimic, my first step was to stop purging so I shot up three stone. Over the last six months or so I've lost the best part of a stone, but it's never easy. I did emotionally binge on Wednesday (+6000 cal at least) , but made sure I…

As I just closed yesterday off with nothing filled in, so it thinks I ate nothing yesterday, it sounds buggy for you.

I never noticed any metabolism decrease, I'm 35 now and hit my (to date) healthiest three years ago, I then overrated and lost it all. I'm 5'8 and currently am 168, down from 180 a few months ago.I'm hoping to kick behind one last time before maintaining for good! Hope you find the perfect dress!

People who care about you will worry, there's not much you can do about that. Personally I'd look at measuring success by other measures they might be able to better understand, for instance what is your body fat percentage and how has that changed?

*Huggles* I know it's not a productive or useful comment, but that's about all I can offer. As someone who is recovering from an eating disorder, and was at my pre-pubescent weight at my lowest, I'd suggest you may be nearing a danger zone food mentally wise. Try to relearn how to enjoy food again and sod the calories…

Definitely no nutritionist here, just personal opinion. Water helps fill us up so make sure you're getting enough. Same with protein. A little at each meal helps me with any hunger pangs. The fruit and yogurt are both possibly high in sugar. Especially low fat yoghurt. Sugar =short term boost in energy and mood followed by…

Apologies if I err'd, I was talking humanity in general rather than a select group of long term users who know what they're doing. A quick internet search will give sources explaining about how dietary fibre intake in developed countries around the world is falling short of recommendations. As a relatively new user, and…

Oooh this thread got me angry, so much hating for saying it's too cold to go outside! Like OP I skipped the gym because of cold. I skipped it for for two weeks recently as cycling to the gym was giving me frostbite through my snowboots. And no I can't drive, the government won't let me, and frankly you should be effing…

Oh my fabulous, awesome thread! I worry that I'm not normal, I seem to be able to hold more food than anyone else. Large pizza, garlic side, nacho side and tub of ice-cream for one to go! And don't start on buy one get one free offers at pizza restaurants. About eating things out of jars with spoons, a spoon of peanut…

Hello hello! Fellow MS'er here. Not much understanding about diabetes though... still add me and we can grumble together about motivating yourself when your body says sleep, your brain makes you make bad food decisions, cardio makes your extremities numb and even basic lunges are impossible when balance/spaticity are bad!

Personal experience: Me at target weight= healthy looking neither too fat or too skinny Me + 10 to 14 lbs extra FAT= a tad overweight Me + 20 lbs extra of fat upwards (now) = a fair bit squishy around the edges.

I think most of us have issues with getting enough fibre and water, let's not worry folks by scaremongering. As fibre helps move waste through your system, how does it trigger a backwards vomiting movement? Agree with MamaPeach that it doesn't

Part of the reason I'm back is because in the process of beating bulimia, I put on three stone. I always describe the progress of the eating disorder as beginning at the point I got obsessed with weighing and measuring every calorie.... newbies with a lot to lose ought to remember this is a post about those who know how to…

I am not an expert!!!!!!!!!!! Last week I lapsed into another Bulimic episode, now I'm recovered again. Considering your diet for the rest of your day, then I can see why you feel that the evening is a binge. When I was visiting the eating disorder service support groups, it became apparent that a lot of the sufferers had…

Two people that I love to bits, neither knows the other, chose to take up the 5:2 lifestyle after the Horizon broadcast towards the end of 2012. Both are now maintaining with a 6:1 program, have stuck with it, got used to the hunger quickly and as a side effect have lost stones. For them it's a lifestyle rather than a…

I just tried to calculate my basic calories by other means, height, age, sex etc... there are so many differing calculations on different internet sites that I vary by 500 calories dependant upon site. I did quite like a quote from a daily mirror article based around how many calories we 'really' should be eating: "NHS…

The way I'd feel about folks approaching me for a chat whilst I'm at the gym is highly influenced by how many people are hogging the weights. If I can't work out the way I want, then I'm just grumpy. Having said that, and something that no-one seems to have mentioned, is to have a chat to the gym staff and personal…

Oh my gosh, it's nice to hear a person on here rather than the spam attack that's going on. Hello \o/ Congrats on your weight loss so far. Best thing about exercise is that it's easy to get used to it relatively quickly as our bodies are built to respond to it. So start small. Build up time little by little. Have you tried…

I'm not an exercise guru, but if you're exercising on a treadmill in heavy clothing, you must be losing a lot of water. When I'm dehydrated, I can never seem to exercise as long or feel as good whilst doing it. Do the strength training to give your upper body tone and to build muscle to burn the calories whilst you're not…

First off, so much kudos for you for having the mental strength to be doing so well! In my personal ED experience any mention of being the 'wrong' weight can trigger my mind to go back to old pathways, your doctor is a silly ar*e for joking about it. I recommend looking back at everyone who has posted here and take each…
