I'm 5'8.5 my highest weight was 250, but I started MFP at around 200. I'm at 177 now and I want to get down to 140lbs.

My husband and I did keto for two months before I joined MFP and our experience wasn't overall so positive. Here is what I liked and dislike about it. Positives: - Great satiety - You lose a lot of weight at first (even though it's water weight) and it's encouraging. - Forces you to get creative with food and get out of…

I'm also quite constipated even though I eat a lot of fiber. Turns out I upped my protein by a lot and cut back too much on the fat. I'm eating more fat again and everything is fine. I would suggest to change your MFP settings to see how much fiber you are getting and drink a lot of water.

No I don't especially not for pants since I carry a lot of my weight in my thighs and I'm not sure if the cut will be flattering once I reace my goal weight
-
I average around 100, I usually eat more during the week, and eat "less clean" on weekends.

You have already a lot of good responses in this thread. I agree with what most people are saying, you are not creating a deficit. Your logging has to be inaccurate and you are eating more without realizing it. At your weight you would be losing weight on 1200 calories a day. There is no need for cheat days if you eat…

What?

I don't mind being hungry during the day, but I always try to eat most of my calories at night in order no to have to go to bed hungry. With time it becomes easier. The days that I'm about to crack I remember that I lost almost 20 pounds since the beginning of the year and that I should be in the healthy bmi range this…

I love that documentary! That's actually where I got the information. And it's available on youtube if anybody is interested.

I'm going to answer to the originaI post which was asking if anybody had similar stories. I actually like you tried different things and did low carb for a while. My story is a bit different than yours, since I started my weight loss without tracking. I lost 65 pounds in three years, 15 with MFP. Before MFP I started with…

I occasionally take magnesium (when I have musle cramps) and probiotic (when I'm constipated). There is such a thing as too much vitamin, especially with vitamin A.

I agree that you should enjoy and try to make up for it. That applies also for vacations. What really sucks is being invited somewhere where there are major food pushers. I like to choose my own pig out and actually enjoy it.

Honestly, I'm also part of the thunder thigh's club no matter what I do. At my lowest weight (BMI around 22) I still had them. I think it's time to embrace them, there is nothing wrong with bigger legs.
-
Welcome! I didn't try this particular eating plan, but I did try other plans that involved completely cutting some of my favorite food and it just wasn't sustainable! To loose weight you only need a calorie deficit.

I'm 5'8 1/2 and my initial goal is 150. I'm at 185 now and I'm already starting to look better in clothes (down from 250 at my biggest). My face looks better too.

I just ate icecream for breakfast and I don't even usually eat breakfast...
-
Eating frequency does not have an impact on metabolism. I eat 2 meals a day with no snack and it has been the most positive change I did in my weightloss (besides counting calories of course).
-
I picked up my goal weight based on what I used to weigh and where I though I looked best, which is in my case at a bmi of almost 23. Once I get there I'll reevaluate.

I'm 5'8 184lbs and 30 years old and I eat 1200 on weekdays and up to 2000 on weekends. It works for me! I started at 1400 to 1500 calories and I was steadily losing. I still comes up to the same if I do a daily average, but it feels more doable if I can eat more on weekends. Whatever works for you is what you can stick…

I agree with (almost) everything that was mentionned. In my day to day life, I find the breakfast and the whole "chrononutrition" myths to be the strongest. Another myth you can't lose weight without exercising.
-
I don't do real intermittent fasting anymore (I have milk in my coffee in the morning), but I find that it's easier for me to eat two meals a day. I like big meals and I never feel satisfied with small portions.

I'm an expat living in the north of Belgium and I've been to the Netherlands many times. The raw hareng is absolutely delicious and healthy. Personnally, I don't like kroket and bitterballen, but it's definitely a local specialty. I know it's not Dutch food, but they have a lot of awesome Indonasian restaurants in the…

The initial weightloss is water weight. To lose 1 pound you need a deficit of 3500 calories. 1-2 pounds a week is actually a pretty good and fast weight loss. You didn't gain the weight overnight afterall.
-
I took about 25 pounds till people started to comment on my weight loss. I find that the more I weight, the more pounds it takes to see a significant difference. Now that I'm no longer obese and that I'm in the overweight category I see changes about every 10-15 pounds.
-
In order to lose weight you need to reduce your calories. Do you like eating a lot of carbs? If you want the new lifestyle to be sustainable you have to be able to keep at it.
-
I'm one of those people who do not do any exercise besides walking around 4-5 hours a week. I'm honest about it though I do not feel like going to a gym. I live in a place where I don't speak the language and it gives me a lot of social anxiety and I avoid going to public places as much as possible. But sure I could suck…

What do you think?

Mega brunches every weekend.

I remember laughing so hard reading the reviews on amazon. For those of you who haven't read them. It's pure gold. http://www.amazon.com/Haribo-Sugar-Free-Gummy-Bears/dp/B008JELLCA
