All I know is that the thought that my ideas, opinions and decisions may not be my own or are controlled by some outside source brings me all kinds of anxiety. Thanks OP.

Some clarification on this post and my own two cents. You may see a little weight gain (initially with fluctuations) starting a weight lifting program as your body will pump your muscles full of fluid to facilitate repair. To what extent this happens is dependent upon the intensity of your routine, how your body reacts to…

Yeah, no. I don't believe in fate because then it eliminates any idea of having choice or free will. Events happen simply because of a series of choices made or events that occur. Our minds look for reasoning behind the things that happen to make sense of the world around us and to lesson the feeling of anxiety that we…

I wouldn't throw it away, just only way once a week at the same time of day of the week. A scale is a decent guide to check to see if you're on the right track. However, if you can't restrain yourself from doing it every day and you get upset if the needle ticks up a bit, then get rid of it and use your mirror and clothes…

It's variable dependent upon the exercise performed, the intensity, your weight and your fitness level. No one can give you a definitive answer on this.

Oh yeah, I agree with ameliagomes25, a magnesium supplement will keep you pretty regular. I take it before I go to bed because it's a natural muscle relaxer and helps me sleep. The side affect (or benefit) is that you will have to go to the bathroom first thing in the morning.

Only other way, other than a paid account, that I know of is to not log your exercise if you don't plan on eating those calories back. That's really the only reason you add your exercise, so that MFP can add those in to your overall caloric burn to track how much you need to eat in order to continue to lose weight. If…

Only thing you can do is to lose body fat. Your body will decide where that area of fat comes from. Get low enough in body fat and it will have no choice but to utilize that area of fat. The more muscle you have on your body, the faster it will burn fat. That's why guys generally have an easier time burning excess fat and…

Genetics could be playing a role in it, but are you also eating at a deficit? Building muscle while at a deficit is tough to do. You might have a more lifted appearance in your rear as the muscle you have becomes tighter, but for it to really grow, you have to eat more calories and protein (that's if you aren't overweight).

I'm guessing that you're saying that you are just now educating yourself on the calorie in calorie out premise of weight loss and fitness. Food, eating and diet is the most important part of building your body into the body you want. Weight loss = more calories burned than you take in. Muscle gain = more calories ingested…

Yes, MFP will automatically adjust your caloric deficit if you update your current weight. The lower in weight you go, the lower your deficit will be.
-
MFP will give you a report that you can break down for a week but it won't break it down from specific dates, just one week back from the date of the report.

If he's been this weight for a while, I'm not sure how it's hurting his health. He may not be eating a lot because his body (at that weight) doesn't require a lot. You haven't mentioned any medical problems he was having from being that slim so it sounds like his weight (or lack thereof) is bothering you more than it is…

I have larger traps and the bar sitting on them hurts as well as a lack of range of motion across my chest so I usually get pain from tension in my forearms (from grabbing the bar to hold it in place) and shoulders (because holding the bar forced me to stretch to get proper form. I started using a manta ray squat pad and…

This, genetics can be an excuse for not trying. Yes, your body will fight you on muscle development, it just means you have to train that area harder and for longer than some other people. A round booty can be had by anyone. Booty building exercises are heavy low back squats, heavy deadlifts, heavy donkey kicks (there are…

Working your abdominals should not make you feel like you're bloated. Tight and tense? Yes. Bloated? No. Working any muscle will cause rips and tears that the body then fills with fluid to facilitate repair. However, that shouldn't make you feel bloated although it might make your abs look a little more pumped for a short…

Bodyweight work will lift your glutes but you likely won't see a huge amount of growth. If you're quad dominant, you might see more changes in them than your glutes. I love doing barbell hip thrusts for glutes, barbell front squats for glutes, back squats for overall glute/quad/hamstring focus. Leg extensions on the…

I wonder if you're lifting heavy enough on your lifting days. It looks like you could gain a little muscle, which you would have to increase your caloric intake to do. The more muscle you have, the more fat you'll burn, even at rest. You might want to switch your split to a 3/2 and focus more on lifting heavier weights to…

Big Brother lost me when they had a season that just focused on putting all the pretty people in the house. My alternative is Survivor.

Anyone that pushes for a 5 day workout week has my vote. I vote @Cindy4FunFit if fitness is her platform.

A cleanse will just make you lose a lot of water weight and set you up for disappointment when all of it comes right back. There is nothing a cleanse does that your body doesn't do naturally on it's own without causing you all kinds of discomfort.

Why do women worry so much about growing muscle and looking manly? It ain't going to happen unless your some kind of genetic freak. You may be more muscular than some women for your size, but embrace the fact that you are blessed to actually grow muscle. A lot of women struggle to even get the slightest muscular gains in…

Not to me but you might have a nutrient, electrolyte or hormonal imbalance brought on by exercise if this isn't normal for you, or it could just be that you're having a bad day. Everybody has them every now and then.

Some people do shorter stints of cardio than 1 hour but I typically do 40-45 minutes each day. Although, the longer you go, the more likely you'll end up burning muscle. The body chooses to break down proteins first before going after fats and if you don't have enough protein in your blood to support the energy burn once…

Some would even say they're essential for good physical and mental health. I, for one, love melons and can't imagine life without them.
-
Huh? Who's flirting? We're talking about salads. Get your mind out of the gutter.
-
What! That's a travesty! What person treats melons that way? The sweetness of melons should be enjoyed, not rushed and require gentle preparation. Melons must be handled with care and, at times, taste testing is necessary to ensure the proper ripeness. Although I do love melons, I like the taste of a sweet cherry even more.
-
Well, I have had complaints that my salads are too full of cucumber. I had to learn to leave some out and to not overdo it. However, no one has ever complained about not being satisfied by deliciousness of my offerings.
-
Absolutely, got to have nice ripe melons. I always have a large cucumber on hand for the right occasion.
