  • First, focus on fat loss and don't worry so much about the scale! TOM, muscle gain and water weight are just a few things that can make you heavier. I know there used to be scales in the pharmacy departments of Wal-Marts and most grocery stores, so if you must keep up with your numbers you can check there. Since your doc…
  • Thirded. We burn calories constantly, even in our sleep.
  • 1200, here. I'm new to the site but so far I've been under every day. I update my blog daily and often have food suggestions, so feel free to add! Good luck with your goals!
  • I'm a former server so here's a little insight from my experience: There are two types of servers; Ones that try to save the customer as much money as possible (ie. offering smaller portions, suggesting "hey, if you order this and add that you'll save .50 cents" etc) and the ones who try to upsale as much as possible…

  • What sort of challenges? I'll probably join in...
  • I'm studying up on this as well... today was my first attempt at strength training and it was awkward, to say the least! For example, go out for sushi (not the fried stuff... not all sushi is created equally!) or look for healthy alternative snacks, like low-cal popcorn or dried fruits.…
  • I'm not familiar with the program but I googled it... "Guaranteed to loose 6 pounds in your first week"? I'm more than a little skeptical about "miracle" workouts like this, but any exercise is better than none so go for it. Typically, people will recommend that you rest a day between workouts. That is, one day on, one day…
  • Yep, your tummy is shrinking! Remember you may be gaining muscle so while the scale isn't going down your still loosing fat. Keep it up!
  • Text-based rpgs and MUDs? Sooo old school! You are my kind of girl! Welcome to MFP and best of luck to you, awesome lady.
  • I know the feeling.... my sweet tooth was my biggest downfall! I would eat fairly healthy and then binge on chocolate (I'm talking a 5lb bag of kitkats in an evening here!). My solution was to cut out sweets cold turkey. Yes, its hard. Yes, the cravings will drive you crazy. But after about two weeks you'll be amazed how…

  • I didn't read the whole post but yes, cutting out alcohol will definitely help you shed pounds. When you drink alcohol your just consuming empty calories and "bad" carbs (simple sugars). Drinking also lowers your inhibition which means your more likely to cave in to a craving for a greasy burger you would usually pass up.…
