  • I have to try this!!! Thanks for sharing!!
  • Things that fill me up a ton are whey protein shakes - I don't want to eat for HOURS! Costco has these chocolate protein shakes that are 160 calories and 30g of protein. I definitely suggest that for something to use as your first snack of the afternoon, and see if that holds you off until dinner.
  • This is all super helpful! Thank you all so much!
  • It's pretty easy as long as their food diaries are set to public. If you click on their username and go to their profile, there is a blueish button that says "view diary". It will show you what they've entered! Good luck!
  • Confession - I haven't really been making exercise a priority. I'll do yoga 2 or 3 times a week, but other than that, I've managed to be avoiding it while losing weight. It might be time to really start. Also, about the sugar intake - I'll definitely start watching that. I'll add a sugar ticker to my diary. I will start…
  • Kashi Go Lean! Cereal is only 70 calories for a half cup. Raw Veggies are the same fresh crispness with wayy less calories than fruit. Also, Cucumbers with lime juice, salt, and pepper, are super low cal, super delicious, and super refreshing. And some fruits aren't so bad. Tons of watermelon is hardly anything and it's…
  • Hah! Love it!
  • I was a vegan for a year, a vegetarian for the year following, and a pescetarian (vegetarian but I'd eat seafood) for a year after that - and after those three years, I'm DONE telling myself that I can't have certain foods. I didn't lose any weight on those 'diets' (because everything is a diet whether you're limiting…
  • I'm absolutely not a fitness expert, but I'd say padding with extra calories is the way to go. It seems to me the two ways to keep calories higher in general is to either cut exercise or add food; obviously cutting activity isn't a good idea. I'd add some healthy calories, like nuts or whole grain carbs, olive oil in…
  • First of all, good for you for doing what you know needs to be done! Agreed that quitting smoking takes incredible strength, and you CAN lose the weight!! Family discussions about weight can be tricky. I know in my family there are definitely some sensitivities to talking about it, and I think some of those stem from their…
  • I'm not an expert, but I'd definitely say yes. I've read a bit about zig-zagging calories anyway, and nursing is really hard work. By keeping calories so low, you're not doing your body, your energy, or yourself any good. I'd maybe bump it up to whatever MFP suggests to maintain weight, and keep the calories lower on the…
  • Unfortunately, there aren't any easy tricks for this. Everyone is very different, so I don't know what will work for you, but personally I have had trouble in the past when I forgot why I wanted to lose weight in the first place. I'd get too pleased with the progress of a couple pounds and tell myself that I deserve a…
  • I've noticed a difference in the next-day weigh ins if I cut myself off sooner rather than later. Ideally, 7pm is a good time for me.
  • My face, neck, and stomach are the first to show. I can usually tell about what my weight is day to day from the difference in the way my stomach feels when I wake up in the morning. But- my upper legs and arms NEVER EVER change. Very frustrating! As I try and fit into different pants, the waists will be way too loose but…
