Easy and workout in the same thought made me laugh....I thought about how many times I wished that I found excercise easy. On a more serious note, you might want to take a look at the excercise options listed in the excercise diary just to see what others are doing for a place to start. I like the Jillian Michaels 30 Day…

I would suggest you check the package label on the turkey next time and see what the actual sodium content per serving is and then compare to what comes up when you log. You may need to make your own entry. Go into Settings from your home page, choose Diary Settings, choose sodium to show on your daily food log tracking.

I have experienced this loss of momentum in the past. Now I'm just in a routine that makes me feel bad if I don't stick to it. I'm hoping eventually it just becomes a natural part of my life. I have taken one rest day and jumped right back in and I'm sure I will take others. I also don't do the same thing everyday just to…

Hi Gaby! Welcome.

I asked a nutritionist friend this question a few months ago (before I gave up everything but plain water and black coffee) and she said if it's decaf she counts it as water for both coffee and tea. She said flavored water also counts but you have to count the calories. I'd be interested to see what others say.

It depends on what kind you get as to how and what they log. Most "good" HRM allow you to start them when you begin excercise and stop them when you are complete. During the excercise they monitor heart rate and at the end provide the number of calories it calculates you have burned.

Their Wood Fire Grill choices are good. The tilapia is usually excellent. The last time I was there I asked them if it was an option to leave some of the "salty" seasonings off my fish and they were more than happy to do that. Avoid the garlic cheddar biscuit and the high calorie/high fat dressing (Ceasar) and you can make…

You certainly have the calories and fat to spare for a TBSP of peanut butter or a hand full of nuts (watch the sodium with those). Deli turkey and a slice of low fat cheese might be a good option. You might want to consider keeping some protein bars on hand for these moments. All of that said, there are just some days you…

We have children who are overweight also. We have had to make some hard choices around our house and they include not having unhealthy choices for them to snack on. They eat what we eat. I also sat down with the other adults in their lives and explained that we really needed them to help reinforce the good healthy eating…

My friend owns one and according to the "tests" she and another friend have done, it burns about 200-300 in 30 minutes.

The weight loss goals are based on defecits created in calorie intake not calories burned. The program here is designed so that you are encouraged to eat back those calories burned in excercise. Search some of the topics for "eating back calories" and you will see that there is much discussion about this but it will give…

I think it's awesome when you "start over". Life has handed you alot of stuff lately - sorry about all of that. Glad you thought enough of yourself to jump back in .

Awesome job!

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I identify with so many of the things each of you said. I am figuring out I am so not alone. The more I share the more I am learning about me and figuring out how to change my "stinkin' thinkin'".

I joined Curves last October and had exactly the same experiences you are having now. I quit going in December and didn't start back until March. When I started we were in the beginning of a protein challenge. I really concentrated on adding protein to my diet. What a huge differnence it has made, especially when I eat…

Great place to get support. Welcome

That is so me. The girl with the jokes and all the funny stories to tell (that are usually very true experiences in my life) that are attempts to deflect attention from what I fear others are really seeing. DUH. How crazy is that to make comments about how you look and feel about you and expect that others aren't noticing?…

That is incredible. You look great and the numbers are awesome! I'm inspired.

This is the scale that we use at home and that the medical staff at the agency I work for use. (That's how I found out about it.) It is exact with the old "doctor's scales" I weigh on at Curves. I bought it at Walmart and think I paid less than it is listed on their website. Health o meter® Body Fat Monitoring Scale -…

I've done classes and Zumba Wii and am doing 30DS now. The Zumba class, which I read that's not an option for you, is the best work-out ever. With that said, the 30DS fits better in to my home work-out schedule and really works me out all over. I sometimes treat the Zumba Wii like it's a game and not a work-out. There are…

Love the pic. You look great.

I am a huge fan of Hungry Girl website and cookbook. She has one cookbook full of recipes under 200 calories and low fat and sugar; lots of desserts. Last night I had chocolate swirl brownies. Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are also a good option for me. Of course I don't do these every night but often. Sometimes a spoon…

Find a program that works for you that will allow you to make the lifestyle change you need. It's different for everybody. Personally, I do a lot of meal replacement protein products for two meals a day and then eat a "healthy" dinner with fruit in between. I've tried EVERYTHING and figured out this is what works best for…

Sounds like you need a new scale and a set time to weigh yourself. I do weigh every day, but at the same time and only once a day. Whether it's once a day or once a week a consistent time is important. (Gravity does a strange thing to our bodies through the day.) I bought a new scale when I started this journey. Spent a…

I have never liked having my picture taken because of what I saw when I looked at them. I could pick out every flaw. As if not taking the picture changed what was really there. It's about my insecurities and the "tape that plays in my head". Because I am trying so hard to consistently recognize my own worth and value and…

According to the Subway site this is the nutritional info for this salad with no cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers and red onions as well as the sauce. If you follow this link to their web site you can choose the option for "Your Build" and it will provide the nutritional info based on what you add to the…

Doesn't require a lot of space at all. If you have an area where you can do a push up and some jumping jacks you've got all you need.

I agree with the need to make a meal plan first so you can have a very specific grocery list. Decide what you are willing to buy off-brands for and what's a name brand must. (For me that would be cheese - name brand only.) I have a family of 4 but usually cook for 6 every night to include my parents. I buy meat when it's…

I'm 5'11 and weigh 321 pounds (down from 364 - yeah me). My favorite is when people find out how much you weigh and they say things like "I would have never guessed you weighed that much" or "you are lucky you are so tall. You can carry the extra weight." Uh, no I can't. Just because I'm tall doesn't mean my joints were…

Protein bar, apples, strawberries, grapes, and greek yogurt on the days I work. Sometimes I will stop at Subway and take a sandwich but only when I don't plan well.
