it amazes if there is no solution for this. anyone know of an app that pull metric info from barcodes?
-
the scanner pulls english units. for example. if i scan tuna it will give me the nutrition for 4 ounces of it. or i can switch to 1 ounce. what i cant do(or figure out) is how to switch that to metric. its so much easier using grams rather than ounces.

dont listen to the people telling you to only exercise 3 days a week. you will not overload your adrenals or your CNS. exercising every day is a great goal. every so often if you are feel yourself getting overly tired/sore/etc...then take a day off.
-
you are eating too many calories/too much food.
-
yes a really bad evening could ruin your progress for the week.

a lot of scientists believe it was veganism that caused the dinosaurs to go extinct a few thousand years ago.
-
just start on January 1st and enjoy the holidays.
-
that 8 glasses of water thing is a myth. just drink when you are thirsty.
-
most people who complain about not having time to exercise spend at least a couple(usually more) hours a week watching TV or doing some other hobby. so put exercise above every non essential activity. nobody is buys 100% of the week on essential matters.

no.

being overweight is unattractive. its normal that as you lose weight you will attract more and better looking mates.
-
dont keep snacks in the house.
-
you are eating too much.
-
unless its a trailer or RV or a low priced condo how can anyones house be worth less than 140k?
-
lol i wish i could build 2 lbs in a day.
-

either train at a different time where you can access the rack, change gyms or ask to work in with whoever is in the rack. skip the smith squats.

like i keep saying in this thread im referring to discussing this with a "good friend" like the OP states. i would be much less likely to discuss anything like this with a random coworker.
-
already know? how many times do hear people say "i never knew i gained THAT much weight" people delude themselves all the time. there are studies done showing just how wrong people's self image is in either direction. do the right thing and discuss problems with your friends.
-
there are plenty of ways of telling someone that you care enough about them and that you noticed they might be putting on a few pounds. sometimes you can do it in a joking way, or a more sincere way...being their good friend you would know which way is best. the worst thing you can do is nothing and just watch your friend…
-
did the OP say they'd ridicule him? my impression was that they would in a kind way discuss it. like any good friend would.
-
yep. because im a good friend. if i notice any harmful changes in a friends life(weight problem, gambling problem, alcohol/drugs, etc..) i will speak up because thats what friends are for.
-
maybe this is a male/female divide issue but guys dont have a problem talking about stuff like this.
-
just like the alcoholic that knows he has a problem but continues to drink anyway? if a good friend is harming themselves you say something. most people can talk to a good friend in a sensitive way to let them know they see a problem and are there to help.
-
where does it say 5lbs? OP said friend lost weight 6 months ago. id assume it was more than 5 lbs. even if it was only 5 good friends should be able to discuss matters like this.
-
wow...some friend you are. maybe you arent close with your friends but for anyone i call a "good friend" like the OP i would speak up and would hope they would do the same.
-
in a lot of ways obesity is like alcoholism. if your friend was an alcoholic wouldnt you say something? or would you try to "lead by example"? if you truly are a friend and your friend is harming themselves(obesity/drugs/alchol/cutting...) then you absolutely should do something.
