I get weird messages from "guys that like girls" all the time...and I've never made a post like this. Welcome to what we deal with all the time!

I definitely cut back on cereal too, especially after realizing how small a serving really is! but recently I've switched to using unsweetened vanilla almond milk which is only 30 cals for 8 oz which helps so I've been eating more cereal again lol

There are a lot of foods that I used to eat regularly that I now eat rarely or have at least really cut back on the amount that I have. Some examples are coffee creamer (used to use 3T everyday in my coffee now I usually only use 1 or sometimes 2), extra sharp cheddar cheese (used to eat up to 4oz a day just because I…

Mine is included in tuition, so it's basically free to me even though I know I pay something for it. It's actually super huge and really nice though so I love it there but don't go too often because dealing with traffic/parking is annoying. And my apartment complex has a small gym that's also free, but it doesn't have…

I'd suggest just keeping it simple and doing it the way mfp suggests, which means eating more calories when you exercise (that's why they increase your calorie goal when you add in exercise calories burned).

OMG you look amazing!! :flowerforyou:

I am 5'6" and about 120 lbs. Shirts- usually an xs, sometimes a small jeans- most of my jeans are from American Eagle and they are a 0, in juniors I'm usually a 1 or 3 and occasionally up to a 5 (but I don't really like juniors because they usually don't fit right, too small in the legs/butt and too big in the waist…

we met in health class in my freshman year of high school. I really didn't notice anything about him at first, he was really quiet! but then after the class was over, I started noticing him a lot around school and started liking him pretty much out of nowhere. He had a class with one of my best friends and she was trying…

I used to only have 1 pair of jeans at a time while losing and having to buy new bras all the time was really annoying too. For a while I kept going to VS but then I realized that Target was a better idea because they are cheaper and still pretty decent! I was so happy when I got to my goal sizes, I ordered 5 pairs of…

have you been around many toddlers? I used to work with 2 year olds, and I can tell you without even having been a parent that it's not as easy as it sounds to just "train them" to behave better.

this is basically what I was trying to get at, it just sounds a little nicer so I'm going to quote this to agree and to say that I'm not trying to be rude with my reply, I've been there too!

Stop saying that you CAN'T stop. You can. That's really all there is to it. I know it's hard to change your eating habits, but when it comes down to it, if you want to really make a change, you will do it. Maybe not every time, but most times. Keep trying and it'll get easier! You're the only one responsible for your…

I seriously don't understand why this is controversial. I'd rather my kid (when I have one) wear a cute little backpack that looks like a stuffed animal and have a "leash" on them in a busy area than have someone grab them or them run off in a second and hurt themselves. A couple years ago, we took my siblings to Sea World…

are you sure that's what's keeping you from gaining weight? what made you assume that? could you put on weight before?

I really like cardio, I have a hard time getting into strength training but I know it's important too.

That's pretty cool! My BMI is lower than 92% of females aged 15-29 in the US (that's surprising!) and lower than 72% around the world. Quite a discrepancy between the US average and the worldwide average. "If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would remove 53,633,383 tonnes from the total weight of the…

It depends, realistically 30 weeks should be really doable (1 lb a week) but in my experience, it takes me much longer than that! Others will lose it in 3 months though, there really is no one answer. I've lost an average of 30/35 a year, seems slow but it's stayed off and I'm pretty sure I'll have no trouble maintaining!…

it's okay, it happens to many of us! the important thing is that you're back and trying again! The first time I tried MFP, I was 165 and I got down to about 152 maybe (after about 3 months or so) and then I quit using mfp and gained all the weight I lost and an additional 20 on top of that! Started this time at 185…

I am in a really similar position. My goal was 115, but I'm 119 and I considered switching to maintenance now because I was starting to think that I wouldn't look better if I lost more, but I also want to lower my body fat % so I just don't feel ready to commit to maintaining yet. I even thought about trying to do a small…

it's okay as long as it doesn't happen all the time. just enjoy the special occasion for what it was and then pick back up where you left off the next day!

I'm pretty cheap so I like getting a lot of my workout clothes from Marshall's. They have all different brands there, I just look around and see what I like. I need to buy some more too, most of my workout clothes are not the right size anymore either!

I think people fail long term when they give up everything that they like eating while losing weight so they don't learn how to eat them moderately, then they get to their goal and go back to eating how they actually like to and gain weight again. at least, I know that's what would happen to me. that's why I don't cut out…

I'm taking a personal finance class right now, so I have no personal experience with any of this yet but I'll share what I'm learning. 110 - your age is the % you should invest in equities apparently, so 65% seems to be low if you're going off that, but I'm sure there are other opinions on that. and as for choosing where…

I would move on. I'm much younger than you and even for me living at home forever would be a big deal breaker. Find someone else that loves you and is sure about their feelings for you. There are a lot of people in this world, no reason to settle and no reason to stay with someone hoping they'll change things about…

I get most of my jeans from American Eagle, usually I buy a 0 but right now I'm wearing a 00 but most 00 are too tight, just not the pair that I'm wearing now. I still want my thighs to get a little smaller and more toned, but that's it. I have a lot of size 0 jeans so I don't really want them to get too loose!

Oh and I have one more question. Obviously I'll eat my exercise calories back that are burned through cardio, but what about when lifting? Should I still wear my hrm and eat those calories back, or just ignore it? thanks!
-
ok, thank you! I will try that! should I really gain 10 pounds before cutting again, is that a normal amount? I'm sure some of it will be muscle and some will inevitably be fat, around what ratio is normal? sorry for so many questions, but I have a lot to learn about this!
-
you're right, I guess there is no sense in waiting!
-
thanks a lot for the info! I think I'll give it a try! Do you think it would be okay to start out with a deficit of maybe 250, then work to maintenance and then start the bulk phase? I'm 119 right now, I think I'd be more comfortable working down to 115 with a small deficit first and then going up to 120 or 125 over time,…
