  • Congrats and good advice! I'm working on re-losing some weight that I gained back after a 65 lb loss and your advice is helpful!
  • To be fair, that's not really how you phrased your OP. If you would have stated that you were actually annoyed about people actually lying pretending to be someone else in their profile, most people would probably agree that its odd. Also, you specifically mentioned people using old photos of themselves as well... not just…
  • I think you're overthinking it. My profile picture is 2 years old, I have it on here because it motivates me and that's the entire purpose of my account. Its not like its facebook, which I would feel weird using an older pic on, but here it doesn't matter. Its for me, not my mfp friends.
  • I had a big mac for dinner tonight. Fits my calorie goal and I found it to be both good and filling for the amount of calories. But to answer the question, yes. Calories in vs. calories out. If you plan on eating those foods once you've reached your goal then I think you might as well learn how to eat them now in…
  • Great job! Losing that first 10 pounds motivated me a lot too, it was the first time I felt like "ok, I can really do this!" I started at 185 at the beginning of 2012 and I got down to 120 by 2014...gained some of it back so I'm here again but hey, I did it once so I know I can do it again!
  • that's awesome! fitting into old jeans has always been a huge motivation for me!
  • I tried it for a week about 4 years ago unsuccessfully. I had a bad experience with it, I had a panic attack, except of course I didn't know that it was a panic attack at the time, I thought something was really wrong with me, like I couldn't breath and my heart was beating out of my chest! I was at work and I called my…
  • I'm also always cold, although it was a little worse when I was at my lowest weight. However, I've gained some weight back and I'm still cold, so I guess it never goes away for some of us!
  • I was considering Polar's A360 if I was going to go with something that detects heart rate and had smart watch features. I love fitbit but I've always used Polar for heart rate monitors. I also liked the idea of being able to use one device for workouts and all day activity tracking. However, I decided to go with the…
  • I just don't like milk, but if I did I'd drink it. I switched over to vanilla almond milk for cereal which tastes better (to me) and is only 30 calories/8oz...no protein though.
  • I am 5'6" and want to lose about 35-40 pounds. I lost 65 pounds in the past, from 185 to 120 but have gained back 40 in the last 2 years! Feel free to add me (as long as you are losing in a healthy way)!
  • I am feeling extra hungry today and feeling like stopping by Taco Bell on my way home from work tonight, but today I will avoid my cravings and make myself a good dinner when I get home!
  • That seems pretty low for your height/weight. I am 5'6" and 160 right now, eating about 1500-1600. Walking 12k steps a day and my fitbit puts me at 2300 calories burned. You probably don't need to eat that little to lose...why make it harder on yourself than it needs to be?
  • I'm just going to enjoy it but not let myself get too relaxed. I have reached my goal already just to regain 40 of the 65 pounds back 2 years later. My reward will be fitting into my clothes that I bought last time I reached my goal and feeling confident again!
  • I also can't fit in Target jeans, no matter what size I am my calves never fit unless its too big at my waist! Right now, I'm 5'6" and 160. I'm pear shaped so I'm usually still a small in tops my jeans are an American Eagle 8, also have a pair of shorts that are a 10 that fit and a pair of jeans that are a 6 that fit but…
  • Right now my goal is to have a 750 calorie deficit each day to lose 1.5 lbs a week. I have my fitbit synced to my account so it adjusts my calorie goal each day based on my activity level. I set my goal on here to maintain so it shows me my total calorie burn for the day and my goal is to have 750 calories "leftover."…
  • I definitely agree with this. I used to live in Orlando and the theme park food really isn't very good. I'd keep it simple there and save the splurges for the restaurants. If you happen to be near downtown, check out Pom Pom's Teahouse and Sandwicheria, it's my favorite place in Orlando! It's a cute place with good prices,…
  • One of my favorite parts of a vacation is experiencing all the good food! I usually come back about 5 pounds heavier from trips, but I'm sure you'll be doing tons of walking too! I would try to be a little reasonable but still let yourself indulge here and there!
  • it's also good with black beans too, and probably most other types of beans or veggies!
  • A simple but favorite meal that I've been making a lot recently is just brown rice (I buy some that just needs to be microwaved for 3 mins (from frozen) so it's really easy), chick peas (canned, reduced sodium), 100 calorie portion of guacamole, and some feta cheese. I think it's delicious too, and it's really filling!
  • I love the refreshers they sell, 60 calories for a small and 90 for a medium I think. Not sure about sugar content but it can't bee that bad. They have berry and orange flavors.
  • My levels are usually only borderline too (but have been higher in the past) and my doctor said that I shouldn't need meds but after I told him that my periods were becoming irregular again he put me on a small dose, tried that out for 6 months and still had low energy and irregular periods, so he bumped it up again and…
  • I don't know where you workout, but I've literally never noticed a single person wearing see through yoga pants.
  • I kind of have to agree with this. If you depend on anyone else for support it's going to make it a lot harder. It's great when you have other people (especially your spouse) to do it with you but if you can't do it completely on your own it's going to be way harder for you to be successful! I lost 65 pounds over 2.5…
  • it's definitely a huge source of motivation for me too, my health is fine so it's always been about looking better and having more confidence for me!
  • Definitely see a doctor and a good nutritionist about this!
  • I agree with this, let people decide for themselves.
  • your body can adjust to getting by on less calories, especially when you first start out and are excited by the idea of change and progress...they probably are a little hungry though! anyways, don't let it bother you. Do what you need to do, you're likely to have better long term results eating the way you are anyways!…
  • I am 15 pounds from my goal weight! I was there last year (after losing 65 pounds) but I've gained back 10-15 and it is so hard for me to stay motivated now!
