  • Silk Creamy Cashew, unsweetened is the closest I've found to regular milk. I drink it straigt out of the glass, which I can't do with almond or soy milk. Its soooooo creamy & yummy! Not to mention full of B12 & vitamin D.
  • Nothing looks bad there, I take all that except the additional sodium, I just use the pink salt. Maybe don't take stuff so close to bedtime. I usually give myself a 4 hour window and don't take anything within that time frame.
  • I've had this for years off & on, its awful. I find that a lot of supplements can aggravate it. are you taking anything other than the magnesium close to bedtime? I can't take anything, even cold meds, especially if there is sleep aid in it. Also too much caffeine during the day can set it off. Its really horrible. I can…
  • Ok I'm late to the game but here are my KISS goals for September: 1: Drink at least 3 litres of water a day 2: stop weighing in every day. Going to try once a week. THis will be hard for me. I'm a bit obsessive. :# 3: start my C25K again, got to week 6 last time. Determined to finish this thing!! thats it for me. wish me…
  • What do you but in the shot glass with water?? I'm assuming salt?
  • I've had horrible cravings for potato chips lately, and I've caved more than once making it impossible to get back on track. Last week I figured out there must be a reason for it & guessed it was a craving for salt & started eating salty stuff, like olives & feta in my salad & extra himalayan salt on everything & that…
  • I had the same experience. I had joined the group & when I was having a stall back at the beginning of the year. I upped my protein as instructed and did start to lose again briefly but after about a week I started to gain weight and was feeling awful so I said I was going to go back to moderate protein & that my body…
  • Great news! I'm finally getting back on track myself. I downloaded the app from ketodietapp.com it has tons of great, easy recipes and lots off good info. I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting back into ketosis, stinky breath & pee (sorry tmi lol) and decreased appetite. I have a ketonix and I'm still in the green…
  • Is that the OKL keto group? I was part of a group on fb for a while who did the OKL way which has higher protein. I lost weight the first week & half but then stalled again and started to gain. Everyone is different, what works for one may not work for another. I have a friend who can stay in ketosis eating a banana every…
  • What is so different in that group than others?
  • I don't have any advice but just wanted to say you're not alone. I'm in the same boat. Not losing for months and now gaining. But I struggle with exercise and my eating has been a bit off lately so I"m far from perfect. Just wanted to say I hope you figure it out, and good luck!
  • Hi, I've been following lchf/ keto for over a year now. I've lost 26 lbs (was 35 but gained 9 back when I went off the rails back in april while on vacation. Damn all inclusive lol) I keep my net carbs under 20g. I'd love to have some new friends who share their diaries. I really need to get some new food ideas.
  • I love Maria, I've made a lot of her recipes. I'll have to look into this one, I didn't know they made a cookbook together, I'm out of the loop apparently. lol
  • I've been sidelined for over a week with an ankle issue. Every time I try to run outside I end up with foot or ankle issues. I have really good shoes, had my gait analyzed and fitted propertly so its not the shoes. I do fine on the treadmill so I'm going to continue inside for a while until my joints are stronger. That is…
  • I feel the same! Running is the only exercise I really enjoy so I hate being side lined by this stupid pain!!
  • I'm struggling right now with ankle/lower leg pain myself. I was doing great inside on the treadmill but as soon as I took it outside my ankle & lower shin started hurting. I've been resting it for a week now and tried to do a little run today and immediately felt pain. I'm bummed! I'm going to check out some of the advice…
  • Try the C25K app! I'm doing it right now. I'm almost 50 and have at least 50 lbs to lose. Just take it slow and take your rest days, your body needs them. But never think something isn't doable. it is totally doable! Maybe the first step is to stop calling yourself fatty?
  • Thank you so much for the breathing advice!! I will definitely try them all! I read an article about the belly breathing but didn't really pay it much attention, thinking I'll worry about that when the time comes. Well I guess its time. lol. I did w1d3 outside tonight. I had been on w6d2 on the treadmill but got outside. I…
  • @MimiOfTheLusciousLawn I was thinking I might but if I run every 2nd day it would take me forever to get it done. lol. I tried running outside one day and inside the next but it was too hard on my joints. I really need the rest day to recuperated. I'm not sure I could do both on the same day, but to be honest I never…
  • I just really haven't mastered controlling my breathing yet I guess. I am a mouth breather and as much as I try to breath to my nose when I'm running I just can't do it. But I keep trying. I used to have exercise induced asthma but that seems to have improved over the years and I don't need a puffer any more so I think the…
  • Thank you everyone! My resting heart rate is a bit high at about 70 so I guess I'm in line with you DaveAkeman as far as HR so I feel better. I was worried that 160 was way too high. When I run on the treadmill is closer to 150. I won't worry about it. Just keep trodding along.
  • I just took mine outside too!. I was on week 6 on the treadmill and went right back to day one outside. Its a totally different game! I'm struggling with controlling my breathing. I did day 2 last night and felt better but still not great.
  • Did day 2 last night and the runs were 12 minutes per mile so a bit slower but the walks were faster. Overall the full 30 minutes covered 2 miles. I'm having a really hard time with my breathing outside. I almost start to hyperventilate. How can I improve this? or does it just come with practice?
  • Decided to stop procrastinating and did my run outside tonight. I started fresh, day 1. It is sooooooo much harder outside than on the treadmill!! I struggled with the 1 minute runs yet on the treadmill 8 minutes are a breeze. But I didn't stop once and felt stronger with each run.
  • I did day one outside this evening. How is it possible that I can run 5-8 minutes on the treadmill but that one minute run outside almost killed me!! I did the whole thing, didn't stop but it wasn't pretty. And SLOWWWWWWWW averaged an 11minute mile but its a start and to be honest by the end of if my runs felt stronger. I…
  • Just finished W6D1 today. My plan was to start outside if I could get past week 5 on the treadmill but the heat & humidity was awful here today. I could barely breath just walking outside. So treadmill it was but I increased my speed a bit on my runs and upped the incline a bit too. Also on a side note I got new running…
  • I did w6d1 today inside. The humidity was crazy here today and just walking the dogs outside left me short of breath. I had planned on starting outside if I could get through week 5 even if it mean doing weeks over but the heat & humidity is unbearable. If it wasn't for my air conditioner full blast & a floor fan blasting…
  • Thanks Taeliesyn. I haven't had an issue since, I think it was a one off. Thank goodness.
  • Turns out I may have had a touch of heat stroke. Was out in the sun earlier in the day and despite having my fan on full blast it was still really hot in my room where the treadmill is. Was feeling off all day yesterday as well. I'm really sensitive to the heat and I'm having trouble with these temps lately.
  • I did it!! well sort of. W5D3 with 2 little stops during the run to have a drink. I can't drink and run without losing my breath. So despite that I ran the whole way. According to my apple heathkit it says I ran 4.3k! I may do it over to make it through without stopping but I still count today as a victory because 2 years…
