Oh, awesome my good man!

Today I'm proud of myself for getting on the treadmill and exercising even though I find it mind-numbingly boring. The weather was inclement and I couldn't walk outdoors. I managed 55 minutes at 3mph!

Counting today because I'm about to go to sleep: Drew: 3 The Binge: 1

That's excellent! You knew it would be tough but you did it anyway. =) Today I'm proud of myself for getting on the treadmill and exercising even though that's the most boring thing in the world to me I really was resisting it. I couldn't walk outside because of the weather. I managed 55 minutes at 3mph!

Use small plates and bowls instead of standard sized. Use a salad fork and a teaspoon and take smaller bites. Wait to load your fork or spoon until after you swallow, Don't clear away plates and wrappers while you're eating. Seeing what you've already eaten while you're still eating will psychologically cue you to eat less.

Thanks for the good words, WillLift4Tats. What's been working for me is setting a timer. When I feel a binge hit, I indulge it up to 150 - 200 calories, then set a timer for 20 minutes and do something distracting. When the timer goes off, if I still need to satiate, I allow another 100 calories. I repeat this until I've…

I eat a low calorie (1500/day) diet with few restrictions. I avoid fatty foods because they are binge triggers for me. Other than that, I view a calorie as a calorie, whatever it's source. My exercise plan is twice daily walks, at least 2 miles per walk, and light upper body strength training 3X/week. I'm disabled and have…

I've been feeling depressed due to issues at home, but my success at controlling binge eating and sticking to my set calories is giving me a boost. The exercise is a mixed blessing; I feel glad that I'm getting off my rump and doing it, but my muscles are sore! I know the soreness will eventually go away so I'm sticking to…

Wow, some great goals! My goals for the challenge are: ~Get to 227lbs and no longer be medically obese ~Walk 4 miles/day at least 5 days a week ~Upper body workout at least 3 days a week ~Track every calorie and stay in limit at least 6 days a week Hopefully at the end of all this I will feel better and be motivated to get…

You might want to try a timer, joshlawrence737. If you can feel the binge coming on, set a specific calorie limit and indulge it, then set a 20 minute timer and do something distracting. When the timer goes off, if you're still craving, then set another calorie limit and indulge it. Again with the 20 minute timer. I do…

Wow! So many people doing so well. Today I am proud of myself for taking my morning walk even though it was raining and I didn't want to do it. I am also proud that I was able to enjoy a dessert and stop. I have implemented a new procedure to stop the binge that seems to be working well. Nothing is foolproof, but…

I've only been in the challenge for 2 days, but so far: Drew: 2 The Binge: 0 Hooray!

Today I'm proud of myself for: tracking all of my calories; exercising even though I really didn't feel like it; doing housework on a Sunday; being nice and not getting grumpy even though I'm feeling depressed!

Perfect I should find this challenge starting today. I'm restarting my tracking on MFP after a week of not tracking on my old weight loss site. I'm 53 pounds down from where I started, but plateaued and have been hovering here for weeks. so it really feels like I'm starting from scratch. New calorie limit, new exercise…
