Running on a treadmill is easier than running outside. You just need to get used to running outside. Give it time and you'll get over the breathing issue.

My wife and I had to make the same choice! We chose the gym membership and are glad we did. :smile: If I had just the treadmill, we would have been bored as heck. The gym offers the variety we need to keep the workouts interesting.

Are you weighing your food portions or guesstimating? If you are estimating, you could be way off in calories.

I did Crossfit at my gym for (6) months prior to my Tough Mudder which I did in Michigan/Ohio on 04/14/12. The mix of cardio and weightlifting had me prepared.
