Oh wow - I totally know where you are  I grew up in Buffalo, TX but I live in Dallas now. Welcome!!

Seriously - google C25k. There's a free app you can download to your ipod or whatever, and it will tell you when to walk, run, slow back down, you're doing great! etc, all set to music. Pretty kick @$$ :) I started the C25k a long time ago, but hurt my knee doing other dumb stuff and stopped. I'm starting again tonight, if…

You look AMAZING :flowerforyou:

THIS!! I'm lucky enough to have a full size fridge at work, so I can keep things like salad and sandwich stuff available all week. Be sure to pack some healthy snacks too.... I like special K crackers (they look & taste just like wheat thins) + 1 wedge of laughing cow cheese for a quick 100 cal snack in the afternoons.

Agree with stolly...also, IMHO, you should maybe cut out the beer for a couple of weeks. I LOVE beer, but I've found that if I let myself have a few only one night a week I lose much faster than if I have 1-2 every night with dinner. Even if everything else (workout and food choices) is pretty much the same.

I'm 28 and live on the west side of Dallas, close to Irving. :)

I'm assuming you ran or something similar? ETA - HOLY CRAP - I didn't realize your diary was open when I originally replied. You kicked *kitten* today - no wonder your legs are warm!! Sometimes after I run more than usual (I am *not* a runner - I'm a walker who runs a block or so when my dog gets bored) my legs feel like…

I've used crest or colgate my entire life, and I've never had a cavity *knock on wood!!* My sister has used the same toothpaste, and has had cavities. I really think it's a matter of genetics. Also, maybe you should ask your dentist what he recommends?

I carry most of my fat in the midsection, so I've been focusing on cardio to help burn that off....It seems (to me and my super short-sightedness) that crunches are a waste of time until I can actually see results. I actually saw better results doing push ups (got through week 5 of the 100 push up challenge before I went…

I think jml107 is maybe trying to say that if you feel you need to plan a cheat day into your week, you are restricting yourself too much. In my case, I don't have a planned cheat day - as in FRIDAYS I WILL EAT NOTHING BUT CHOCOLATE AND PIZZA!! - but I do end up with about one cheat meal each week. Either we go out to…

WOOHOOO!! Way to go :)

First - *HUGS* for doing so well for the past 8 months!!! Second - put the cookie/brownie/chips/whatever your weakness is DOWN. Now log it. Now move along with your day and plan something healthy for dinner tonight. This is not a yo-yo or merry-go-round. It's life. You're going to have ups and downs and frustrations and…

I leave room in my day for 1 regular coke and sometimes 1 pc of chocolate. I have to have the coke, or I'm super hostile. Yaaaaay, caffeine addiction. The chocolate is a bonus, sort of. If I eat REALLY well all day, I allow myself 1 pc of 50 cal chocolate. I'm terrible at just not allowing myself to have things - if I do…

Thanks for the reminder - I'm really sore from doing random home improvement stuff all weekend, and could really use a good stretch. Have a great Sunday, all!

Check out this post - there were lots of good responses :flowerforyou: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/318116-salad-ideas-i-m-getting-bored

Way to go

I'm the same way - I drink btw 4 and 6 16 oz glasses, and even on days I don't work out I'm like MUST. DRINK. MORE. WAAAAAAAATERRRR. I don't know what's up :(

Way to go!!

I don't know about "working" retail, but when I go out for "retail therapy" I usually log half of the time I spent as walking at 2.0 mph. So if I shop for 2 hours, I just put that I walked for 1 hr at that pace. I think this is going to be something you have to play with, because MFP overestimates cals burned. You don't…

Hahaha YES! My silly dog won't hardly let me put my shoes and socks on once he realizes we're going for a walk. He has to put his head directly in my lap like, "Hey! I know you're leaving - and going somewhere super duper fun - don't forget about me! Hey hey hey I'm still here! Why aren't your shoes on yet? We need to go!!"

I like that your profile pic is a beer and a burger. Makes my day :) Back to your original question: What's the best part about excercising? - I am getting to the point I am doing my dog-walking-route faster and can run in slightly longer intervals (about 3 minutes, 4 if I pace myself better). I'm kicking my own *kitten*!!…

When I started I was ~173 and ate 1200 (trying to lose 1-2# per week, 1200 is the lowest you can go for either) for the first 2 months or so of MFP. I didn't work out very much, so I just changed my eating a LOT. The last few weeks I've upped my daily cals to 1360 (only trying to lose 1/2# per week) and I've also started…

First of all - try romaine or mesclun (mixed) lettuce instead of iceberg. Way more nutrients and WAY better tasting :) Also, what sort of dressings do you like? I've tried several Kraft ones, and like sun-dried tomato viniagarette (spelling?), light honey dijon, and roasted red pepper. Check out some restaurant websites…

Just a couple thoughts: Are you eating enough calories to balance what you're burning? I usually eat back about half off mine (actually, I eat what I need to be not-hungry and then burn the calories in the evenings, usually). Are you eating enough protein? I <3 carbs, but if I get too many cals from carbs I don't stay full…

I've noticed that if I go for more than a couple of days without a good night's sleep, I am hungrier for chips/chocolate/__insert crap food here ___. I'm not sure if my body is just reaching for anything to stay awake, or if I just have fewer inhabitions when I'm exhausted. Either way - I have been trying REALLY hard to…

What do you like? If you like scifi/fantasy, check out George RR Martin's Game of Thrones series. I read it (way before it became an HBO series) and it's really, REALLY good.

Hi and welcome :)

I'm a HUGE fan of premade tacos; they take a bit of time to pre-make, but that pays off in spades the next AM when you're running out the door and can have an awesome breakfast in 45 seconds: Breakfast Tacos: 221 cals each and they keep me full for at least 4 hours, if not more: For each taco, you will need: La Bandarita -…

I love this quote - it always makes me think that God is endorsing burglary
