  • I've heard real good things about that program but not used it personally. I've been actively going to the gym for the last 6 months but not really eating a healthy diet so my work at the gym has been cancelled out. I've only really started running more in the last 3 weeks as I've signed up for a Half Marathon in…
  • Yep @mrs_kitty_w , that's exactly what it is! No words need to be spoken, but we connect on another level! I've also started taking part in a Park Run and there are volunteers who are out directing us and I always make sure I take my earphones out so I can hear them pushing us on and making sure I say thank you to each and…
  • Please don't be discouraged, I found that when I first started on my journey I didn't notice any weight really falling off for the first few weeks which I found strange. I am so glad I stuck with it as I've made progress since that time. Are you logging your meals in your diary and tracking food? If you're within your…

  • That's great to hear! I've recently started running outside and often pass other runners running in the opposite direction and just getting a smile or a nod makes me push on further. Such small things like this drive me on! Great effort & keep up the hard work
  • Good luck to you all on your journey, unfortunately I don't have a kid but would happily try and offer some motivation / support to you to achieve your goals! , feel free to send a FR if you'd like
  • Everyone has taken the first step by joining the MyFitnessPal community! Here you will find lots of supportive friends who will be here to motivate you and drive you to succeed! I've come on leaps and bounds since joining and couldn't have kept on track without my circle of friends here! If anyone would like to befriend…
  • I leave mine on when I'm at the gym lifting weights, however when I'm hitting the treadmill I take it off and use the information from the treadmill to input distance ran / calories burned. I don't personally log any of my weight training on MFP / FitBit as otherwise I'll always find myself WAY under my calorie goal daily.
  • I defintely recommend a FitBit, I personally have the Charge as at the time of purchase the HR wasn't out. I'm thinking about upgrading to the Surge as I'm looking to get into running and the GPS functionality interests me. Since I got my FitBit Charge I've tried to consciously ensure I hit 10k steps per day, even when I'm…
  • Bring it on! Love a challenge and makes me more active trying to win, haha! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2XDGBQ
  • Sent you both friend requests, looking for some more motivated friends here in the UK,
  • Unfortunately no, sorry mate!
  • Based in South Shields (just outside Newcastle-Upon-Tyne), on daily, have an open diary and actively encourage friends to better themselves. Anyone is welcome to send a FR ,
  • I've sent a FR also which I hope you don't mind. I don't use SnapChat too often but do send pics now and then. Also don't be silly about your face! You're a pretty lass!
  • I live 5 minutes from this lovely beach and am going to start running on here and we also have an amazing coastline where our 5km park run travels along. So fortunate to live near an amazing beach here in South Shields (just outside Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England)
  • I used to weigh myself daily and started to become discouraged as the number wasn't shifting. I decided that I would weigh myself once week (same day, same time) and my first weigh in I lost 5lbs in a week. With me weighing myself once a week it makes me focus more on my diet as I need to work hard all week eating well to…
  • Since I joined the site I've came across so many supportive friends (my most supportive friend is also called Jessica, ) who help keep me on track and focused on my goals. I hope that I'm able to help others and try and extend my support to as many people as possible. If you'd like to send a FR I'd happily accept…
  • I'm not at that stage yet but I think I'll be reaching it soon. I'm slowly dropping weight and also body fat. The way I stay focused is by taking measurements and pictures once a week. Admittedly the difference may not be huge week on week but seeing a change keeps me on track. For me I'm looking at losing inches from my…
  • I'm active and have an open diary, always looking to support & motivate others and drive them to achieve their goals!
  • I used to think I would need to go to the gym for a couple of hours to make any progress. However I'm in and out when doing weights in an hour as I utilise the time I have and make the most of it. I find myself progressing a lot more with a shorter more focused workout. If I'm hitting cardio then it will be longer.
  • Hi Daniella, congratulations on your lost weight so far. It's a long process but I'd like to see if I'm able to offer support / inspiration on here. As others, I'm on my journey too and slowly making progress which is good to see. I've sent a FR, :)
  • I went in with no knowledge of what to expect to find, I didn't recognise any of the brands that were stocked. The sales person spent 15 - 20 mins looking at how I walk / run, watching my ankles and if there was any inward rolling of my feet. I tried a pair on walked / ran a little in the shop, but he thought he could do…
  • I went to a running shop a few weeks back to get some new footwear and it was the best decision I've made! I feel much more comfortable when walking / running now. Admittedly I'm looking at running a half-marathon in a few months so that's what spurred me onto visiting the running shop, however I wish I'd gone there sooner.
  • I'm active, log food daily and have an open diary. I'd happily accept any new friends who are looking for that additional support to reach / work towards their goals!
  • I have a FitBit Charge and I log all my food on MFP which then transfers it across to my FitBit. I love my FitBit and ensure that everyday I hit at least 10k steps. It's also encouraging me to walk the stairs as opposed to taking lifts. Definitely recommend getting one, :)
  • That's excellent advice Corrine, thank you for that! I've never ran any kind of long distance since cross country whilst at high school. I'm currently running around 3km on the treadmill daily at the gym in between weight training. But now I've signed up to the GNR I'm going to at least double this. Thankfully I'm not…

  • Lovely little seaside town called South Shields (just outside Newcastle-Upon-Tyne), really enjoying being part of the MFP circle,
  • Mine was taken at a work conference in February this year. I'm holding the iPad
