Disheartened after a week? I'd say go ahead and quit and come back when she means it to be honest. One week is barely enough time to kickstart the metabolism. Expecting a dramatic result in such a small time is folly and asking to be disappointed. When she's ready to set doable goals, then she can give it a shot.

I didn't notice a big difference until I lost like 30 lbs. Saw it in my face and chin then, but not in the "rest" of me. But others started noticing about that time as well. You'll see a difference soon =)

Eliminating sugar was huge for me. All sources of it pretty much. Changing from processed foods and refined carbs to lean protein and veggies. I'd say that was 80% of the equation. The exercise part is just to feel better during the day.

It's pretty easy, just take regular plain yogurt and double-up some cheese cloth. Line a mesh strainer and then pour the plain yogurt into it. Let it strain over the sink or a bowl for anywhere between 3 to 6 hours. Feast.

Small curd lowfat cottage cheese with some berries. Bacon...straight up they can take my bacon from my cold dead hands. Turkey Breast Lox Greek Yogurt (but watch the sugar!)
