Hi I am Wendy, 45 and always up for some help. I gave up smoking April 2013 after 29 years and I thought (foolishly) I could give up and also do the gym at the same time, er no that didn't work. So a year and a bit and nearly 2 stone heavier I have finally decided enough is enough. So I started on Monday 1st September to…

Hello, I have just read your profle and it seems to me that you are just scared to lose weight. I too have a problem with losing weight as I too know that people will treat me different and all of a sudden will want to talk to me, and when you are shy like me and don't have a lot of confidence it's really sort of strange.…

Hi Angee my name is Wendy and I am 45 (not sure how that happened as I was only 21 yesterday  ). My mum always told me that it is so much harder to lose weight when you get past 40, and she is so right. FR sent  Open to all friends, as I need as much help and motivation as I can get

Hi Rob There is a 5:2 diet group on here that will give you lots of help and info. I myself have all the books about the 5:2 diet but have so far not tried it, I have no doubt that I can do it, but I am just one of those people that like to have it all in place and know exactly what meals I will be eating on the 'fast'…

Well done on your 100+ of quitting. You always know when the time has come to give up :-) I had smoked for 29 years (and I am still only 45) and I had 3 attempts before I finally decided I really wanted to do it. I have been given up since 2nd April 2013, so just over 12 months. I have put weight on which I knew would…

Hi I gave up smoking in Aprl 2013 (and I am still off them), I had patches and an inhaler which seldom got used. I will say that I tried to be good and go to the gym and eat correctly but I couldn't do it, and I did put a stone on. So I decided that last year was 'my giving up smoking year' and this year is 'my losing…

Hi Jay, I agree about adding friends as it is good to have people to encourage you. I have been on this site for a while and was doing ok, then I gave up smoking last April and lost my way but all my friends were great and stuck with me. But now I am back to it and always up for helping new people. Please feel free to add…
