Good advice. I've gone back to a lower calorie daily goal in my mind, even though I left my maintenance goal on my settings. I was away for the holidays, and did not have access to a scale, or I might have been less excited and more skeptical about my new limit. I usually weigh myself every day, and it's a good way to…

Oh yeah, and NO ANDROID. Love when they ignore the worldwide leading installed platform altogether.
-
Found you. However, I'm not sure I'll be there very often because I usually rely on APIs talking to each other. My fitbit isn't an option.

Michael Pollen is one of my favorite authors. And he supports his simple statement with details too. Food Rules is amazing.

Loving what you all are saying.
-
Yes. You will lose weight regardless of the quality of the food, if you are under your goals. You won't be as happy, satiated, or energetic as you might with healthy foods, but you'll lose the weight. Not recommended.

I'm liking it.

I'm more of a walker, but I totally can zone a bit when I'm out. I'm lucky to live in between 3 major cities but reside in relative nature, and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks, Sules!

Love this idea. I walk about 5 miles a day, but usually broken up through the day. Maybe if I focused it a bit more, I'd see the benefit more clearly. Thanks for the feedback, and going to be friending you.
-
Love this Thanks for the share! The one sound thing is one of the key things I am looking for. I want to know what out of the cacophony I need to be focusing on. I'll try this next time I walk, which should be soon. The benefits are also a key for me -- I want to be able to see, taste, touch, feel or smell a discernable…

== the equation of not-crap.

The thing is that your friend's proposed idea is that it is difficult to lose weight while eating "crap food", but it's not. If you burn more than 1600 calories a day for the next two weeks, and you eat only 16 processed, packaged, trans-fat filled, sugar-packed, cocaine laced 100-calorie pack cupcake packs a day, you will…

You're only eating about half your calories, but I think the stuff you are eating looks pretty good. No flags for me, though you should be eating more than this in a day. 1200 cals is about as low as I would go even without exercise, though maybe you are an especially tiny person?
-
Low self esteem, lack of motivation, alcoholism, love of food, no exercise, no counting, no support. I could go on. Glad I have MFP now. Add me if you want support.

The ranges and standards are pretty clear: Athletic is under 8%. Healthy Range is 8-19% Overweight is 19-25% Obese is over 25%. If you want a 6-pack, you'll want about 6%. I just reached 25% which was a personal first goal. I'm aiming for 15%. I'm planning on bypassing BMI guidelines because I think they make me too thin,…

It is a theory. I choose to ignore it and lose pretty steadily. I usually gain between 500-1000 calories a day over my adjusted cals on MFP. I eat my 1700 suggested cals and stop there, despite the additional calories gained, and magically, I lose almost every day.
-
You look fantastic.
-
All good advice. Especially the lifestyle part.
-
I use a impedance scale (fitbit aria) and mine is currently 27%, and it is consistent. I'm aiming for 17%, but it slow going -- much slower than my weight. I lose about 1/2 percent a month.
-
It sounds like you really need a break. Water helps me with headaches too, but ymmv. Hope you feel better.
-
You can have all the days off you want. But you'll likely feel better if you do a little something right now. :)
-
I just got interested in C25K, and most definitely interested in shared support. Feel free to add me, and that goes for the rest of you too. I found some great C25K apps for Android just this morning.
-
You're in the right place. Counting calories, being transparent, and getting support from others is a great and practically infallible way to lose.

I'm a flexitarian now, former vegetarian. e.g. I have meat on occasion -- not every day. No health issues or weight gain, I just enjoy meat from time to time, and don't have an issue with eating it in moderation, preferably where the animals were raised and killed humanely, etc. I don't typically go to McDonald's, as an…

I use a fitbit ultra tracker (look for the ad on MFP to the right there, you'll see it eventually) to automatically track my activity through the day. Best $100 I ever spent, and it integrates very well with MFP. I was hard pressed to walk more than 15 minutes before, and 8 weeks later, I walk an average of 5 miles a day.…

Welcome back. Sounds like a plan to me! Add me if you like.
-
relieved that this is what this thread is about. :)))

You're in the right place, and you have the right mindset. Not being motivated to lose isn't 'bad', necessarily -- it's just that it is the default. Being motivated is a matter of experience, goals, and valences, and is incredibly different from person to person. You sound like you want to switch your motivations from…

I'm flexitarian, but I eat as much raw and whole as I can.

Metab testing sounds interesting! I would love to try that. Thanks so much for your support, and I agree.
