  • I'm doing P90X to try to do both I guess. I'm almost done with the 1st 90 days and I've lost a lot of inches, but I would like to see a little bit more progress with the muscle mass, though I still have 2 1/2 weeks to go.
  • Back and biceps today with ARX. B&B went okay but my stomach was feeling especially tight today. Not sure why, but I felt like I regressed a bit because I couldn't do as much on the abs workout as I had done before. Hope it's a one-time thing....
  • I also find eating well starts at the supermarket. If you don't buy junk, you can't eat junk. I don't do a lot of menu planning, but I have regular staples like brown rice and produce I always reach for.
  • It's likely you initially dropped some weight with some fat loss, but as you gain muscle, you'll increase your weight again.
  • Yeah, you can't afford NOT to invest in your health, if you keep with it, it's a small price to pay. Please keep us updated on your progress!
  • The time I tried it I "bonked". Since then, I've read people say they usually have a small snack like a handful of almonds or a banana with a cup of coffee to at least get enough energy through the workout. I'm going to attempt to try it again with the small snack sometime soon.
  • Good luck! I've been trying to do the same. I'd love to limit my alcohol and coffee intake to zero but it's been tough. The alcohol has been pretty easy, but the coffee is so much harder due to work peer pressure.

  • Count me in as as a believer, I'm in week 11 of 13 now and I'm very happy with the results. It really is about whole body fitness, cardio, muscle, and flexibility. If you stick with it through the first couple weeks, you'll get hooked and want to bring on the pain! Good luck!
  • I know exactly what you mean Sara, I just did 5 miles the other day to start my half-mile training. 5 miles was my end point last year!!! P90X definitely made a difference for me. I did my workout today but I think I bonked a little bit because I had an awful lunch. Running again tomorrow!!!! Time to burn off some goo.
  • Ha ha, love it. Dogs.....you gotta be tricky once they catch on.
  • I would definitely contact a doctor, losing that amount of weight within that time period sounds dangerous.
  • What's wrong with Truvia? I'm trying to push my mom towards it in place of all the other artificial sweeteners.
  • Yes, Heinz Ketchup and Oreos there ARE no subs for!!!
  • Anyone mind if I join the thread? I'm in my first round with P90X and just finished week 1 of phase 3. Totally excited. I'm in the best shape since EVER!!!! You guys and gals are inspiring. (On a side note, on the bar thing, don't get beer, get something like vodka, soda, lime. Only like 60 calories!)
  • Generic brands are, in many cases, but not all, name brands.
  • I do relay and half marathons, and I got the 305 w/ heart monitor and it's more than enough for my needs.
  • Thanks Tammy, I'm finding myself coming back again and again! Love the food tracker!

  • I go through something similar, when I work out I become extremely hungry all the time and I have to stop myself from eating all the time. I find I'm more hungry than usual. I always chalk it up to the body wanting more good calories for fuel. Conversely, I have days like today where I ate too few calories yesterday (to…
  • Same here! Just the half though.
  • Half in early May. Just started training (whoops!), but I'm almost through P90X and will be starting Insanity soon. I was able to do 5 miles two days ago and I'm still feeling it. May have pushed too hard too fast but I felt great while I was running. Good luck to everyone!
  • That was my exact situation too. I decided to stop dropping the $55/month and pony up for P90X. I'm in my last month and I'm very happy with the results. The other thing I like about it is that it really does try to be a total fitness program. Not only weight training, but there's an emphasis on flexibility and cardio too.…
