My tri is at the start of June. I have a couple of months to get my act together! Thanks for the advice guys.

I think I'm going to work my way up to a run-bike-run brick so I get used to tired legs on my bike too. Weather permitting, I'll try my first brick on Sunday :)

I have quite a few things from them, mainly dresses and tops. I love their stuff and have always had good experiences with their clothes and service, although I've only ordered here in the UK or bought from their UK stores. I say buy it!

Thanks guys! Great advice. Yes, my club is a tri club, I think I've done them a disservice because they really are a fab group and I have since found out that they do a trail ride on the weekend that I could go to but the distance is a bit beyond me at the moment. Two follow on questions though: 1. Is the 'stay on the…

Thanks for this, very timely! I'm planning my first brick session for next weekend :)

Because I've been injured a lot I am always convinced any tiny niggling pain is a big deal. I just need to recognise when it is something small and when I'm hypochondriac-ing (totally a word, right?) myself into cutting short a work out, and then push through!

Sounds great you guys! My plan (to accommodate business travel) is: Tuesday: 30 minute run Wednesday: boxing class and abs work Thursday: spin class Friday: Lane swim (about 800m) Saturday: trainer (strength training and run) Sunday: long bike ride Wish me luck to get it all done! Have a great week folks x

Hmm, guess not. I'll just have to read it and report back!

You look great, and what a pretty smile! You made me smile too!

A couple of years ago when I first started running I didn't realise how much weight I was losing. I went for a run outside in a busy park and my (formerly snug) running shorts fell down to my knees. I had to run back holding them up with one hand. Even worse, I was wearing comedy superhero underpants. Not cool.

Hi all! Well this is a challenging week because I have a lot of work deadlines and am going out of town for meetings so it's a pared back exercise schedule: Monday: Spin 60 mins Tuesday: Run 5K Wednesday: Weights session and boxing (I know it's not exactly part of my tri training but I love it!) - 60 mins Thursday-Tuesday…

I'm rereading the Knife of Never Letting Go, all three books are absolutely phenomenal. Also Look at the Birdie, short fiction by Kurt Vonnegut.

That's fantastic you guys! And feel free to add me if you want to compare training, etc. Good luck with your new clubs!

Thanks everyone for your advice. I've joined my local triathlon club and am now full swing into my training - and loving it!

My doc said if it's above the neck (ie snuffly head cold) go for it, but if it's below (ie chesty coughing or fever) then rest it out.

Thanks to the OP for this post. I share some of these concerns, although I'm more worried about friends that I have with extremely low caloric intakes (and not people with significant amounts to lose). Even though people have opened up their diaries and accepted me as a friend I find it very difficult to offer support for…

Not to sound too naive, but after 5 years together, I've never thought about leaving my husband, and every day I'm grateful to have him in my life, even when he pisses me off.

Hi all, I'm a final semester PhD student too, as well as working four days a week so I know from sitting on my butt! My gym runs late exercise classes starting at 8pm so I can usually get a class in every night after work and writing. I just know that if I didn't move every day I would just be a big ball of stress so I…

I'm planning to start outdoor brick sessions in the early spring. We have a nice cycle path by our house so I thought I could do a cycle and do a fake T2 in my back yard where I can drop the bike off, get the hat on and set off for a run straight away. I'm not really sure how to practice T1 but I am SUPER awkward trying to…

Wow, you're braver than me! I'm starting with a super-sprint this year and working my way up! Good luck with your training! :)

Thanks guys!

Hi all, I'm 31 and in Scotland, anyone who is looking for UK friends, feel free to add me too!

I spent my fair share of time at the Kenosee Waterslides!

Thanks guys!

It happened to me for a while and it turned out that I had bronchitis again after a previous bout of pneumonia.. I would go get it checked out, maybe ask your doctor to check on your lung capacity?

Great! I have leftover spaghetti sauce to heat up for dinner tonight so to make it go further I will mix in an extra helping of courgette and peas! Good challenge.

That's phenomenal, very inspiring!

Ah, it might be a case of different strokes for different provinces. Also, it was a few years ago. I had provincial health care but paid a lot for the pill and later the patch. :(

Great work everyone, Panyg you can totally do it! I have another 9 lbs to go but I'm still hoping to pull it off. This week I'm hoping to reach another stone goal. If I get to 186 then I have lost a stone since I started MFP! (not counting the pounds that have been regained and then lost again!!) Another goal I have over…

Well, yeah, there are still taxes, but I'll take it! It cost the freaking earth when I lived in Canada!
