Yes, thats why MFP gives them back to you in your daily goal.

Doing it since May 16 and have lost 25 pounds of nearly all body fat. I feel amazing and blessed that I was turned on to this lifestyle. I do allow for some full fat dairy and I'm not strict about lean meat over fattier cuts so that makes me primal more than paleo, but both advocate clean simple living, moving a lot, and…

They do. You are right. Protein and fat will lead to higher satiety levels.

I will take protein on mine instead... YUMMMMMMM. I just had a delish salad of spinach, romaine, olives, avocado, cucumber, peppers, and chicken with some balsamic vinegarette. I am STUFFED for 450 calories.

I just read a study (albeit small) of 40 women over 12 weeks I believe. 20 were given 2 tbls vegetable oil and 20 2 tbks coconut oil to take each day. They were all told to walk for 50 minutes a day and were put on a reduced calorie diet. The group using coconut oil lost 5" off their waist (0 for the other group), lowered…

There are no necessary carbs, only necessary fats. I choose fat every time. Your body prefers to use it as a fuel source, it keeps you full, lower your triglycerides, actually IMPROVE your cholesterol, and its tasty! But I would have to qualify that I would want the fat to come from animal, or coconut, or avocados. Carbs…

BMI is simply a height to weight ratio. You should add a body fat test to your list of measurements. Once you know your body fat %, you can calculate your body fat pounds and track that loss. That is the number that matters!

I eat them all the time...sliced up on bunless burgers, on meatloaf, in salads, on plantain chips I make, in chicken soup, etc etc. I eat low carb and avocados are definitely regularly appearin on my diary :) Definitely healthy fat!

You guys are forgetting the point of her question...she has IR and PCOS. the point of low Carb with these diagnosis is to reduce insulin response. There is no such thing as a necessary Carb. Complex carbs with IR can be even worse than simple carbs from plant sources because the insulin response is so much higher. Simple…

hear hear!:drinker: I've never had more energy in my life! Your body will burn fat in the absence of carbs, and it actually prefers to do so. I am burning fat and adding lean muscle like crazy! I think carbs from vegetables, fruits, and nuts count as "good" carbs, and I'm finding it very easy to live my lifestyle this way.…

I stay under 50 g a day total...all from vegs, fruit, nuts, no beans or grains at all... I feel amazing!

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a baby is difficult, losing your tube just adds insult to a painful injury. I have had a couple of miscarriages and have lost an ovary/tube as well, so I can empathize....but I would say dare to HOPE! Work on being the best you that you can be now. We are all here to support you and…

It is more than just consumption of omega 3's....I should be more clear. It is also about ratio of 3 to 6. perfect ratios of 3 &6 are found in grass fed animal products and fish. Almonds and walnuts and EVOO and coconut oil are also highly used on the plan. Standard diets with lower quality beef have ratios of omega 6 that…

You should watch the movie Fat Head on hulu or Netflix. Fats rich in omega 3s are healthy for you, lower triclycerides, and your body and brain need them. In fact your body prefers to burn fat over carbs. Its more efficient. Fat does not make you fat ironically. And trust me, it is tasty. Most of my fat comes from grass…

Sweet potatoes offer more nutritionally and have a lower glycemic index response I believe. Both paleo and primal work on a premise of reducing insulin response. Today's white potatoes are largely modified from their original size and nutritional content. I'm avoiding both because I'm one month in and have some major…

^yes this! You look amazing dear, but you are burning your muscle which is why you aren't seeing significant changes there. for anyone interested...you can find most of the answers to your questions here : http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ Food = fuel. Most of us ;) are no longer nomadic. In fact we are quite sedentary, so the underlying theme is to reduce the need for an insulin response in the presence of excess…

ugh I'm not even going to get into the 80/20 principle, or the fact the salami is dry aged, gluten and nitrate free or the fact that I threw out half of the coffee. I'm trying my best and that is all I can do. I don't have to prove myself to anyone, nor do you have to prove yourself to me! I'm simply learning, and will…

Everything in moderation is what is making America fat. It's exactly what happened to me - my low fat, complex carb "diet" has left me with nothing but obesity, insulin resistence, and borderline metabolic syndrome. Someone recommended The Primal Blueprint to me to read, and I have watched the movie Fat Head (you can…
