  • Add protein to your breakfast.
  • Everyone seems to say that weight training is what will make the difference, but for me it makes no difference. The only way I can break a plateau is with more cardio. And not, like, elliptical or Zumba cardio. Just straight up, boring, awful running.
  • I'm definitely an abstainer. My entire personality, in all aspects of my life, is pretty much "all-or-nothing." Also, I resent the implication that abstainers simply lack will power. It's just a different personality type, not a failing. One could argue along similar lines that moderators are just passionless people. It…
  • OMG ME TOO! WTF is up with 130? It is some evil "You Shall Not Pass" plateau guarded by Gandalf or something! I have been stuck here for WEEKS and I have tried upping my calories and lowering them, both to no avail. I haven't even lost inches. I think I need to do more cardio. Right now I do 4 strength training days and 2…

  • The Trader Joe's brand is the best, IMO! The Special K ones are a close second. I actually like the Pop Chips brand ones least. They are kind of greasier than the other kinds. But I love them and cannot help from eating a whole bag if I open one.
  • Yes, but I think a person can have more than one soul mate. My husband is my soul mate, but so is my best girl friend. We have different kinds of relationships, of course.
  • I wouldn't call Jennifer LAWRENCE (not Laurence) full figured but rather athletic. She isn't a waif, but full figured is, I think, a diplomatic way of saying plus sized. JLaw and I have very similar bodies. She being way hotter, though.
  • I don't know, I feel like butterflies and tribal tattoos are somewhat cliche. You might want to ask your brother to draw some sketches for you and help you develop your idea to make it something unique and meaningful to you.
  • It sounds like they are pretty crappy products. They are also, in my opinion, extremely patronizing to women. I wouldn't drink them if they were delicious and 0 calories for that reason.
  • It will never happen, but, Polina Semionova. She has an amazing body and beautiful face. Here she is in Vogue Italia. A video of her dancing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf3WFhbz5VY&feature=related
  • My cheat day means more that I don't log rather than going way over calories. I mean, I probably do go a bit over but I don't usually eat much differently than I normally would. Last cheat day I didn't log and ate a piece of chocolate cake. Otherwise it wasn't much different. For me, the mental aspect of being free to make…

  • I have 21% BF and a flat stomach, so single digit BF is certainly not necessary!

  • I suck at running, too! But I have been getting better. My tips are to set very small goals, stick with it, be patient, and don't worry about judgey runner type people. (I felt very self conscious that people would be like, "What a poser, she only ran 5 minutes and walked the rest!") I started out trying to run without…
  • Planks are great for your whole body! I have a hamstring strain right now and went to do a plank and was surprised that it caused considerable pain in my hamstring.

  • Squats and lunges. They have no effect on my legs whatsoever except to hurt my knees and bulk up my quads (ew). That yoga pose where you balance your thighs on your elbows while standing on your hands. It's just unattractive.
  • I had one when I was 18. I wasn't overweight so I can't speak to them shrinking (although I can say that mine now get bigger and smaller when I put on or lose weight, but to proportional degree). I will say that I have no regrets about having the surgery!
  • I have it but I haven't used it yet. Are you incorporating other kinds of workouts into your routine? Do you do it every day?
  • I'm surprised everyone at my gym doesn't hate my guts, but I'm actually a nice person and so are the people who go to my gym, so we get along fine. But I am the girl who has to look cute all the time. I am also super competitive in the fitness classes I take, but only when it comes to flexibility. I am the girl who does…
  • I'm aware that the singer of Queen was gay. My point was that Sir Mix-a-Lot did not invent songs about big butts. Also, I'm not sure how pointing out the history of a certain symbol in Western culture (i.e. big butts) makes me a bigot. I'm not the one who created that history, but pretending it never happened or believing…
  • Did you look at the link? It has absolutely nothing to do with Sir Mix-a-Lot. It goes back to the late 18th century. And P.S. Queen wrote songs about big butts before Sir Mix-a-Lot, in any case. And I'm pretty sure Fat Bottomed Girls is about white women.
  • Are you kidding me? This is a public forum. Why are people so threatened by cultural critique? Also, you don't have to be any particular race to have a big butt, HOWEVER, the cultural coding of big butts as indicating a certain type of sexiness comes from a very racist place.
  • I AM SO JEALOUS!!!! You must post full reviews of the experience so the rest of us can live vicariously.
  • Charming.
  • Eddie Izzard is brilliant.
  • What bothers me about the butt debate is that hardly anyone ever acknowledges the EXTREMELY racist and sexist origin of the debate. http://english.emory.edu/Bahri/Exhibition.html
  • It makes me so angry at psychiatrists when I read things like this. It's as if they are totally oblivious to the way side effects can contribute to the problems the medication is supposed to be helping. I have heard Wellbutrin has a lower instance of these side effects, but it sounds like you need to find a psychiatrist…
  • Under the new gymnastics scoring, it's much less arbitrary. The commentators give a pretty good break down of why certain scores are given, why certain deductions are taken, and why start values are what they are. It's a little more complicated than, say, a race, but it can be pretty interesting.
  • I love that right now this thread is just below the stripper thread.
