That's a good philosophy. It does all mount up - try keeping a record of it in your exercise diary and you'll see.

Sounds good. Might have to try something similar next time we get a shoulder.

I can help, maybe. I had a pretty successful journey, anyway, and now I'm back on here again!

I'm at work so I can't look this up right now myself, but what gives this so much protein? The dates? The base cereal?

They told you you "might" not lose weight, AND that it was impossible? That's amazing!

Protein repairs muscles that you damage during workouts. Protein doesn't help you lose weight, a calorie deficit (burning more calories than you consume) is what causes humans to lose weight. Protein supplements are useful for those wanting to build muscle that do not consume enough natural proteins during the day. There…

I'm impressed - I've reached my weightloss goal, so toning up is my target now. This is neat!

Thanks all! Glad I'm being as inspiring as those before me were to me :D. I got my buckle and belt from eBay, but seperately, lol. I grew the hair myself :).

Good question! Today was my first day of maintaining. MFP has set me to 2200 to lose 0 lbs a week. Today I did 350 of walking, so that put me to 2500, and I ate 1700 :|. I have no idea how well I'll maintain, but as I said in the first post I am moving to the Land of Eating Cows All The Time soon, so hopefully I'll figure…

Thanks again, all :). Yes, most definitely. I am all about organization to an almost obsessive level, be it professionally or at home. Being able to track my progress over all levels, not just basic weightloss, helped a bunch. Having all my workouts/weight sets laid out the same way helped a lot, too - I knew what I had to…

I regret not having more pictures to post, so yeah, even if you aren't happy with yourself, get some pictures done for comparison, like you said. Congrats on your loss, hope you keep it up!

Don't worry, that's the intended effect.

No. Why would I bother lying? If I eat badly, I usually just don't log at all, as it's usually some restaurant dish that I have no idea how to log - I know what I've eaten, and I'll be careful both before and after eating badly, why would I want to add a carefully constructed web of lies on top of that? I'm a busy man!

Thanks, everyone :). Don't worry, the hair is staying, even if it'll hinder me much more in Texas than it does in the UK!
-
Whoah. Creepy! We started at a similar weight, at a similar time, and we both reached our goals, the same weight, within a day of each other. Greetings, weight-loss brother!

Most confusing topic I've read in a long time. (I am also British btw.)
-
What? Since when? What a stupid thing to say, lol.

You need a reason to lose weight and keep it off. If you aren't doing it, it's because you don't really want to, or you like eating/not exercising more than you'd like to lose weight. It took me like 15 years before I found what I needed - apparently it was a mix of marriage and cancer that provided the kick to the butt I…

There's a slight difference..

HELP!! I READ THE ARTICLE AND I DON'T CARE AND I'M STILL DRINKING SKIMMED MILK. WHAT DO I DO??

You realise it's a problem, so it should be easier to deal with now. Just ask yourself why you're eating, whenever you get up to get some food. If it's boredom, don't eat it.

The slower you lose, the more used you get to being lighter. More time to get used to your new physical abilities, as well as eating less - mentally, you're a lot less likely to put it all back on once you've lost it. Think of it less as a race and more as an ongoing life choice - you're choosing to be healthier, and…

Sodium isn't all that bad so long as you can balance it with water. It's Chinese culture to eat a ton of sodium in their sauces, but they also have a lot of watery dishes and soups to balance it out. That being said, it's insane how much salt American processed foods have in them, hidden away. Might wanna boost that 8 cups…

Haha, good job man. Starting to look pretty swoll!

Congratulations! Noticed any changes, be it size or mood or fitness or anything?

I don't track sugar, but on the odd days where I do look, I almost always go way over. I like fruits which are high in sugars (bananas, grapes & strawberries) and also things with processed sugar (health bars/yoghurts, etc). I've lost 75lbs since Feb this year, so go figure.

Slathered in butter, The things that I should not eat. So I don't. Simple.
