  • BRAVO!!!!
  • You are not alone. I'm built like you are. I call them my upper belly and my lower belly. I've always had a lower belly even when I was in high school and a normal weight. The upper belly became more pronounced as I gained weight. I carry most of my weight around my mid section. I have a distinctive waist right at my belly…
  • Congratulations!
  • I was meeting a friend for lunch last week and planned what I was going to order in advance. When we got there the restaurant was closed so we went to the TGIFriday's next door. I should have looked up the calories before I ordered, but I didn't. I ordered a turkey burger feeling that was a pretty good choice. A homemade…
  • Weight loss is not linear. Just keep with it. I was staying in a deficit and did not lose anything for about a month and then lost 5 lbs in one week. You could be retaining water for various reasons that is masking the fat loss temporarily. When the water weight goes you will probably see a few lbs drop off pretty quickly.
  • I know you are likely to get beat up here by people that eat desserts/snacks/sweets every day. If it works for them, then great. Go for it. I want to let you know that I agree with you. Sure I could eat something sweet everyday and I did when I was eating whatever I wanted. Now I choose to use my calories for other foods…
  • I have to agree with most of the other comments that you are eating more calories than you think you are. PCOS is frustrating. I was diagnosed about 20 years ago and have had the symptoms since puberty. Search the boards here for PCOS and you will find information that might be useful to you. Many find low carb eating to…
  • [/quote] That's my problem. I lost a ton of weight before (doing low carb as well), but I struggle to sustain that diet over a long period of time (I lost about 110 pounds over a year's time). I'm down about 26lbs now but have a lot more to go, again. :( I think that's why I am getting frustrated, the loss isn't happening…
  • Right now I'm just staying within my calories (most of the time) and I'm down about 17 lbs. I still have a long way to go though. I've lost weight doing low carb before, but I have never been able to stick with it long term. This time I'm trying to change my eating in ways that I believe I can sustain. I'm not counting my…
  • I have a flex and I love it. I sync it to MFP to earn more calories and that motivates me to move more :) I've never had any problems with charging it. I usually only have to do it about once a week. I also find the sleep information very interesting. My only complaint is that I've had it just about a year and I'm on my…
  • What kind of tests did you have to figure out chocolate was the cause or did you do an elimination diet? I ask because my friend's husband has frequent debilitating migraines. He's trying all kinds of medications and has seen several doctors, but he is still having them and they haven't been able to pinpoint any triggers…
  • I tried Metformin over ten years ago for my PCOS. My endocrinologist at the time prescribed it hoping it would help to regulate my cycles and with weight loss. I took it for several years and tried the regular and time release working up to the max recommended dose. I never lost more than a few lbs and it did not regulate…
  • You look amazing and more importantly it sounds like you feel amazing. I had a tough week last week and started to be discouraged. This has inspired me to get back on track. Thank you.
  • I'm sorry that you are going through all this. What kind of doctor are you seeing? I can only speak from my personal experience. I was diagnosed with PCOS about twenty years ago and after several years finally sought out an endocrinologist. One of the first things they did was test for Cushing's disease, which has similar…
  • It is so great that the metformin worked for you. I was diagnosed with PCOS almost 20 years ago. Metformin never helped me. I worked my way up to the max dose and stayed on it for about two years when I was in my late 20s. I did not lose weight after starting it. I also never ovulated or got my periods while taking it.…
  • I don't know how long ago this was, but you should worry if you go too long without a period. As someone who was diagnosed with PCOS almost 20 years ago, I spent many years without any periods. My doctors, as I saw several over the years, prescribed medications to induce menstruation. My doctor recommended that I take the…
  • I'm not much of a drinker and only have the occasional glass of wine. I first stopped because of a medication I was on, but even after I didn't take that medicine anymore I noticed I just had no longer had the desire to drink. No one comments anymore when everyone is drinking but me - it just becomes normal after awhile.…
  • I have PCOS. When you said you don't have periods without birth control, that was the first thing I thought of. You can find a lot more information about it online and it is a collection of symptoms so you can still have it even if you only have some and not all the symptoms. I was originally diagnosed by a gynecologist…
  • These are a great inspiration and I can't wait until I can come back here and share my own success story.
