It really depends what you're looking for, your budget etc. They are 3 completely different places and they'll offer different things to you.

I think you'd struggle to find a single country trying to model itself after your obesity epidemic actually. Pathetic comment.

That's on mine too. We've seen humans, chimps (Uganda), gorillas (Rwanda), currently living in Malaysia so planning on a trip to the Orangutans soon but the bonobos are the tough one. Can't see the situation in the Congo getting any better anytime soon. My bucket list is huge but a few big ones: -Do the transiberian…

I'm surprised by the things people think are high. 55 cals for an apple? What's high about that? Seems very reasonable for a snack. Same with chicken breast etc. I guess it's people on very low cal diets where 100cals seems like a lot but for most people it really isn't. I was surprised to find 2 bacon rasher medallions…

Cool. I've a GAA (Gaelic Football) competition that weekend actually where a Singapore team are coming :)
-
I'm not from Singapore but I'm living in your neighbour Malaysia :) A struggle I find is getting the recipes that sound great and healthy to fit ingredients I can buy here!

Am I missing somethings? Why does everyone seem to think bacons so evil?

Is the cause not meant to be yourself? MFP is just the tool

7 days? Do you people not go on holidays? I was offline for about 7 months- wedding, moving country, 10 week honeymoon, Christmas, moving country again. Now I'm settled and in a routine I'm using it again. Lucky most of my friends aren't the dumping kind I guess, though I admit I don't often look at the home/comments…

I did couch to 5k, so 9 weeks to run it but that was 33mins, so nowhere near the speed you're looking for.

There's been quite a few, and plenty from the husband but one of the ones I was most touched/warmed by was when an uncle in law, who I became quite close to via working on projects together, told my mother one day when he spotted her that she'd done an excellent job raising me and I was a credit to her. It was unexpected…

All of that is true enough but at the same time I think 'Who cares?'. It doesn't affect anyone but them. It's their money and their time that they're wasting, I don't really get why it bothers anyone else.
-
Unless you actually know them you're judgement is baseless. Not everyone has time to change before going to the gym. They could be coming from work, meetings etc where they needed/wanted to look good. And even if they are dressing up just for the gym, who cares? If it makes them feel better about themselves what harm. It's…

While this is true, it only really matters if you're not controlling your portions. If you just keep eating until you feel full then being a fast eater is bad, but if you're eating a set amount it doesn't really matter. I'm a fast eater. Sometimes when I finish my portion, I don't feel full yet. It's tempting to go eat…

All of the crisps, especially corn snacks like Chicakeets, wheelies, banshee bones. I could eat about 15 packs easily!

Just because something's legal doesn't mean it's not wrong. It's just rude to take someone's photo without asking, especially if they're not in a big group e.g. it's just of them, and it's creepy. There's also plenty of places in the world where it's highly offensive and will get you in major trouble.

140. I got there before my wedding, then spent the last 7 months going mad, honeymoon, moving country etc. So now I'm around 150. I can see the extra in belly flab so I'd like to lose it again. After that, lowering my BF% which is quite high, and just getting fitter.

Extra points for the princess bride quote.

No point me responding as others have said it alright. There's facts, and there's things that aren't fact. People can believe what they want but it doesn't change what is true and what isn't.
-
? I saw plenty of facts and info about the actual affects or non affects of soda on that thread.
-
You weren't wrong to put it up, I think you're wrong to get annoyed that people questioned it and pointed to actual facts that show it was nonsense. In your other post you basically said you'd rather people had left it alone rather than show the facts. It's never wrong to ask a question, it's never wrong to post something…
-
I don't really understand this tbh. You put up a post, which claimed facts that weren't true (the picture). Why would you put it up if you didn't want people to believe it?
-
So basically you don't want people to post actual facts? You think they should just let people post misinformation and not comment? Personally, I've learned a hell of a lot from people who know what they're talking about on here. These people back up their facts with studies, which I can then follow through an research. If…

People seem to be confusing something being 'not good for you' with being bad for you. They are not synonyms. Someone saying soda is not bad for you in moderation is not also claiming that it is good for you. There is a neutral point. I can state that there is no evidence that soda is bad for you in moderation e.g. 1 can a…

Well, when you refuse to post any scientific sources to support your position you're not going to change anyone's mind.
-
It's not about defending the worst stuff, it's about pulling people up when they make rubbish claims backed by no scientific evidence. Anyone could make a picture like the above about anything. It doesn't make it true.

Are you serious? Thai food is ridiculously high calorie. Everything has sugar and coconut milk in it. And Thai people eat almost constantly. They never stop snacking. They're simply built differently metabolism wise, but they're certainly not on healthy diets by any means.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Celery was simply an example using a random food and random figures, not claiming it actually was negative calories. I have no idea if there are foods you can eat that burn more than they contain, but even if there were you'd still have to log it as that would be counted in the basic TDEE.
-
The part that makes it 'negative calorie' e.g. your body using energy to burn it, is already counted in your TDEE. If you don't count the calories in the food, you're counting that energy twice. Say there's 5 cals in a stick of celery. Log it as 5 cals. Your body might use 7 cals to process it, but that's already counted…
