Another poster made a claim in this thread (something you didn't seem to take issue with) and I simply asked her to clarify. Not because I think she's wrong, because I don't know! I never said either was good, the other poster did, remember? I have nothing to accept, I don't have an issue with either choice. I'm simply…

Certainly proven to me that there are some people incapable or reading or having a reasoned discussion on here anyway.

Wtf? Are you serious? I asked for a link because it sounds interesting and I'd like to read it. I like to inform myself as much as possible. 'Can't we all just get along' does not mean can't we all just agree. It's possible to disagree or as I did simply ask for more info without 'not getting on'. What the hell is the…

No offense, but I don't think you've given any reason why it's good? Rather than why it suits personally (which is perfectly fine, I was questioning the claim that it's better for everyone). You can limit your red meat without going vegetarian, and you can also be creative with vegetable without cutting out meat. I don't…
-
Do you have a link for that? Without reading the study, my initial response would be that correlation is not causation. I doubt they have proved it's the vegetarianism that caused them to live longer. To clarify, I think deciding on a vegetarian/vegan diet means you've at least thought about your diet. It's likely that…

Why?

Personally I've moved to Coke Light or Coke Zero(whichever is in the shops). I like the taste and enjoy the fizziness but I'm not willing to give up 150calories for it. Depends on your priorities.

Read it once, will definitely be re-reading tomorrow to try to figure it out!

I'm from Cork, living in Thailand. Mmmmmmm....black pudding. Can't wait to get home in September to have all of the pudding.....and soda bread....and tayto etc etc. Yep, diet goes out the window that month! Fell free to add me anyone, good to see some Irish people around!

I get the feeling although I was lucky enough to find my dress quite quickly. I knew I didn't want strapless and I didn't want a traditional gown. I wanted something very light as I'm marrying on the beach. Ended up spotting a dress on sale in Debenhams which was perfect. Quite grecian on top and a bit flowy at the bottom.…

You can tone up, build lean muscle mass, and keep your body fat at a healthy 20%ish.

About 5 seconds.....seriously. It's in my plan for improvement though! I'm thinking if I do it daily and try to go 5 seconds longer each day then I should build it up. Need to really work on my strength though

I'm Irish, from Ireland. No idea about background, I'm sure there's probably some British blood mixed in there somewhere but we wouldn't be acknowledging that! We don't really do 'heritage' much here. Everyone just calls themselves Irish. We've had a pretty homogeneous society though which is only becoming more…

I don't think anyone would disagree with you. However, I know all of this, and I have no intention of giving up junk food completely. I enjoy eating it, and I'm not going to spend the rest of my life not doing so. I'm aware this may make exercise/dieting more difficult and I think it's worth it. It's up to everyone to make…

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Obviously that is the goal. What I'm saying is it will depend on the person if they will struggle with maintenance or not. It's not a given that if you're not eating clean you will slip into old habits/slack off while on maintenance.
-
Again though, this depends on the person. Which is why we all have different individual goals and they won't always make sense from the outside looking in.
-
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. However eating ALL your calories in junk is obviously not healthy, you won't hit your macros and will lead to other health issues. But you would lose the weight.
-
Fair points. I tend to eat junk, after I workout, or on non-workout days, like the weekend. I certainly wouldn't fancy working out after eating junk. I'm in no way saying there are no disadvantages to eating highly processed food that is bad for you. That is ridiculous. I'm saying that everyones goals are different, people…
-
No, you didn't. If your goal is to have a calorie deficit of 3500cals a week, and you did this, regardless of what you eat you are not destroying your hard work, you are achieving your goal and will lost weight.
-
Again, why? Why is it stupid? No one's pissed off, just looking for your reasoning.
-
So you have a link to this 'fact'?
-
It doesn't matter if you count it, you're body will count anything with water in it(including your food) take the water and use it. Obviously, some drinks will count as less than a full cup e.g. a diuretic like caffeine will mean your body won't get the full cup of water but there will still be a net water gain. The…

Why? Personally, the idea of getting to eat something nice is what makes me go to the gym sometime. There'd be days I couldn't be bothered, but thinking 'If I go workout for an hour, I can eat a bar of chocolate tonight' gets me up off my backside. I still maintain my calorie deficit, plus I get a decent cardio workout.
-
It depends on what the persons goals are. They may not be the same as yours. Some people have a goal of simply losing weight, nothing more, nothing less. For these people, once they stick with their deficit, it doesn't matter if they eat 1500cals of 'rubbish' food one day. They will still lose the weight and reach their…

That's a ridiculous comment. Women DO rape men. Men are far less likely to report it however. It is a real problem, regardless of the fact that it is less prominent than the other way around.
-
So your advice to someone trying to clean up their diet and lose weight is to eat a load of crap and blow their macros out of the water(fat and sugar), just to make sure they don't fall under their calorie goal one day. Somehow, I can't see that as being a healthy habit for anyone on here to form. Most people aren't just…
-
This sounds interesting. Made me realise my goals were currently at eating less than BMR! So upped them. I'm gonna try it, my only worry is that it'l mean I won't notice if my macros are off. I have a problem staying under my sugar normally! Will just have to figure out the percentage and check. I also prefer the idea of…

'Average' size clothes are cheaper due to economies of scale. If you're anything other than average-overweight, underweight, long legs, short legs etc then you're less likely to find something that suits, and when you do find it you have little choice but to pay what they want. Not fun, but them's the breaks.

I'm way less hardcore than the rest of you :) I do 15-30mins cardio-interval training (and 5-10min warm up) plus strength. I burn between 200 and 350 cals on average according to the machine (not accurate I know, getting a HRM off Santa :)). I use the elliptical a lot as I prefer it to the treadmill. My heartrate gets high…

I live in Thailand too and it's hilarious here. They have long Thai names but they're never used, only on official forms and stuff. They all go by their nicknames, which is basically any english word-usually one syllable, they can think of.I'm a teacher, I've met -God -Hotdog -Fack (pronounced ****) -Brother and sister…
