Personally I always go with the natural route... So I'd go with honey in my tea and adjust calories otherwise. But it just depends on the calories you are ok with having.

I just use mine to watch my steps and also check the time. :D But the step counter comes in handy to me.

Thanks for the insight. Being healthy is my ultimate goal, so I need to keep that in mind for sure. Maintaining is the hardest thing for me too (obviously). I stayed at 130-140 for about 3 years before ballooning up to 199 for the last 2 years. I know this is a lifestyle and this time around I need to really keep in mind…

Hi Morgan! We can for sure be friends again, I'd love that! Yes I think I'll stick to the MFP recommended 2lbs per week and see where it takes me. I know this is a lifestyle change, no overnight fixes, so I'm ready for the long haul. :)

Do whatever 'diet' works for you. For example, with myself, I know I need rules in place. So I'm avoiding dairy (except for ghee butter in my coffee and the occasional cheese, but no milk!) and wheat/grains. Some people do fine with just smaller portions of the foods they like, but some need rules in place, like myself.…

I might nibble on something small (handful of nuts or a yogurt) if it's late and I'll be going to bed soon. But that depends on if I feel hungry or not. If I'm not hungry, I'll drink a tall glass of water and then go to bed and maybe eat a bigger breakfast the next day.

Amanda, I'd love to be your weight loss buddy! I too am starting over after getting up to about 198 lbs (at the height of my healthy eating, working out, and food tracking, I weighed 135). I'd like to get back down there again!
-
Thank you both so much! :)

People who shame others for their food/drinks are just insecure about themselves and their own eating. Also for the record my latte in my profile photo is 130 delicious cals. :p
-
Still. Commenting on someone's weight loss goal with "that latte is 200 cals" is completely uncalled for.

You have a wonderful sense of humor here on a weightloss forum. :)

Thank you for the websites and inspiration b3achy!

And your point is...? As long as I log accurately I can have whatever I want.

I've lost 8 lbs in about 8.5 weeks. I'm currently at 190.4 lbs. By January 1st I'd really like to be at 187. That's a lb a week. Crossing fingers!
-
Thanks! Yes, that's what I'm afraid of. I'd like to keep the 1 lb weekly weight loss going as long as possible. :#
-
Thank you. :) How do I adjust my TDEE...?

I think anything with carbs that isn't loaded with sugar or sodium is best. Doesn't really matter what it is, but personally I wouldn't eat something huge before a workout. I know a lot of people drink chocolate milk pre-workout. Or banana with peanut butter. But you're asking for fast food, so I'd say: - latte from…

If I'm wanting Chinese food, it's because I'm craving a very specific dish. So I let myself have it, and just adjust elsewhere in the day, like having a light breakfast and skipping lunch and having an early Chinese dinner.

I am 31 years old and I don't believe I've had the flu shot since I was 22 or so. *knock on wood* I have never gotten the flu.

That's not all the countries that have banned GMOs to date. Some other countries that have banned most GMOs are: Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and Switzerland (there are more, but I want to focus on these). These countries all range from 15-25% obese. The ones you listed are all…

I love the suggestion to go walk at the mall or a big store! Do you have a step tracker so you can meet a daily step goal?
-
It's something I believe in, but see what you think for yourself. :) I don't believe that GMO's cause ALL cases of obesity, but that it is a contributing factor in many cases.
-
I don't believe it affects everyone, as I do believe genetics are involved as well. Here are some articles on the studies if you want to read up on it: prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/gmo-foods-linked-weight-gain naturalsociety.com/how-gmo-foods-feed-junk-food-profits-not-the-world/…

No, they don't contain more calories. There has been research on rats fed GMO's and rats not fed GMO's. The rats who were fed the GMO's consumed more calories than the ones not fed them. Their appetites were larger and so they ate more than their counterparts not fed any food containing GMO's. They also were not able to…

Yes, but my scene was sadly cut. I was originally an extra on the train in the movie "Black Swan". Have you ever been to a Yankee game?
-
I think the biggest factor in obesity is the GMO's in our food, honestly. Countries without GMO's don't have these large-scale obesity problems. That being said, modern humans eat way too much food and don't get enough exercise. I'm not talking about going to the gym, I'm talking about just walking more daily. When I lived…

Not weight loss help, but just short-term body image help with this I've found it to wear looser, flowy tops on top, like tunics. They'll look great with your legs. :)

I hear ya! And it's a great reminder - thank you. Good for you for portioning yourself. :)
