I don't work overnights, but I do work 12 hour days as well. What I'm doing right now is making sure to really book up my weekends with workouts, since it's my main time to get some workouts in, and hitting the gym at night a few days a week. That is hard for me, because after a 12-hour workday, I really just want to go…

My best friend drank Diet Coke for years, and her hair slowly and steadily started falling out. Finally, she read a study that said hair loss could be caused by it! Go to your doctor... It could be anything!

I totally believe in the power of essential oils! Certain smells can boost your mood, give you mental clarity, increase your energy, etc. While I wouldn't rely on them for weight loss, I do use them a few times a day, usually right after the shower in the morning to boost my energy, or at night to relax.

This! :drinker:

My bikinis do this... Score one for me? Haha.

Yes. Many people have chocolate milk post-workout, so milk would be just fine too!

Thanks a bunch!

I wouldn't say I hate them, but I much prefer working out in a class or on my own. Just inspires me so much more to keep at it!

I say that whatever time is more convenient for you - do it then! However, there are a lot of people that believe working out in the morning on an empty stomach is best. But it's really a personal preference!

- Buy nuts, seeds, and dried fruit (no sugar added - I like cranberries) in bulk and make your own healthy Trail Mix - fruit (apples, bananas, clementines, etc) - yogurt - apple or banana with peanut butter Good luck!

When it's this cold, I either work out indoors or I bundle up like crazy and go for a walk.

My advice is to buy in bulk, because it will be cheaper than buying pre-portioned meals. Healthy and relatively cheap things I'd recommend buying in bulk are: beans, yogurt (but make sure it isn't filled with sugar, and has a good amount of protein - I recommend Greek yogurt), fruit such as apples and bananas, eggs,…

I think that cutting out PROCESSED sugars from the diet is a great thing! But natural sugars, such as those found naturally in fruit, are not the enemy.

I think the advice to focus on FITNESS and FEELING BETTER is excellent advice! Don't focus on your weight on the scale. Sounds like a tall order, but believe me, it's going to help you keep pushing ahead when times are tough. If you're only focused on the scale, you will be disappointed. There will be weeks where you feel…

Great job! You look wonderful.

Take yoga classes! Yoga has really helped my breathing with ALL the workouts I do. Yoga really teaches you how to breathe well.

Maybe years ago when I was just starting out I'd pay. But I've pretty much learned all the tools now that this site offers and can do things on my own. So no.

Olives! Yum!

I don't go to the gym either, but I do go to A LOT of yoga and spinning classes, run outdoors, go hiking, and do weight training at home with weighted ball, dumbbells, resistance bands, etc. When you have amazing nature around you, there's no point being in the gym. Get outside!
-
I do a combination of both, but if I'm eating really clean, I don't pay as much attention to the calories.

Jolly Ranchers' calories are empty calories. You aren't getting any nutrients. Why not try switching to dried fruit, like dried pineapple or mango? Delicious but still has calories so you have to watch it, but at least you're getting some nutrients too and fiber.

You look great! I love hot yoga. Keep it up girl!

Sounds like you need to drink more water and decrease your sodium too. How much water and sodium are you having? Also 1200 cals might not be enough for you if you're exercising a lot, even if you are eating back your exercise calories.

Agreed.

Breakfast is usually my biggest meal of the day, then lunch, and dinner is usually my smallest. But I actually usually eat 5-6 small 'meals' throughout the day, so breakfast is usually two meals before 10am.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone! :flowerforyou:

Tell them straight up that you're trying to lose weight, and though you really appreciate the thought that they are thinking of you and giving you food, it's making it hard for you with the temptation of food that you shouldn't be eating. If they keep doing it after you talk to them, just take it and then throw it away or…

That's great! Way to go!

I get PLENTY of protein as a vegetarian. If on a certain day I don't feel I've had enough, I'll have RAW Meal (a meal replacement powder that is vegan). Usually I eat nuts, seeds, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and eggs. I will have some protein source with every meal.

Because pasta isn't healthy. It's carbs - no other real nutritional value. I'd much prefer tomato sauce and cheese over fresh steamed veggies like broccoli, peas, green beans, peppers, etc.
