  • Don't know if you have ever heard of the candy called "SMARTIES". I truly believe there is crack in that stuff! I had it so bad that I had to have an intervention. I went off for a year and then said I would only eat them in moderation. Sad to say, I was eating those little dusty candies by the bagful. Before I went cold…
  • Doing yoga IS lifting weights! You're just using the weight of your own body the same as other's use dumbells. PS, for me, yoga is waaayyy harder than lifting weights. I was encouraged to to yoga to relax. That was the toughest class I've ever taken. I'm trying to graduate to a yoga class. Right now my core development is…
  • As one person commented, you lose weight when you intake less calories than you burn off. If you do a lot of cardio (as another person already stated) your body adapts. You may not lose as much weight, but their is a bigger payoff other than just losing pounds. Your heart and other organs begin to function better. You have…

  • I know EXACTLY how you feel. Thanks to my huspband, I'm learning the art of patience. This can't be a fad for you, but a lifestyle. I was like you...always eating salads..depriving myself, then bingeing. Set realistic goals for yourself, pehaps half a pound per week. Then figure out how many calories you can each eat day,…
  • I'm in the same boat. It is what it is! I've found a way to help my indulgences. When I want a piece of cake or a biscuit with honey, I count up the calories and then jump on the treadmill. I can have my treats, but I have to burn off the right amount of calories in order to do so. After some time, treats become expensive.
  • I've been diagnosed with crohns disease, so I understand your problems. When I get out of my normal routine (weekends), I can be locked up for days. Water is great of course, but I eat a lot of fresh fruit, apples, pears, grapes...anything that is high in pectin. Also, lay off excessive dairy. If you do have dairy, make it…
  • Not sure of what to ask, but make sure you get a copy of your bloodwork. It was most invaluable to me because I analyzed every part of it to ensure I was getting the proper nutrients in my body.
  • Here are two of my favs that would travel well... Thomas Everything Half bagels with an egg scrambled with swiss cheese. ( I usually put on mustard since it's no extra calories) Protein shake: Your favorite juice, banana, blueberries, 1 scoop of soy non-gmo protein mix, a litte almond or 2% milk, ground flax seeds, and…
  • Don't give up. I know how you feel. A LOT can be accomplished in 4 months if you shift gears. This is an excellent website, but you HAVE to log everything you eat. Set a realistic goal, perhaps 1/2 pound a week and take one day at a time. I'm about your height (5'8) and was 172 at my heaviest. I'm now down to 154, pushing…
  • Hello there! :flowerforyou: I know exactly how you are feeling. I was getting quite discourage because I initially lost 7 lbs, but then became very stagnant. Did you pick a weekly goal and then set the number of calories you can eat per day? If not, this is where you may be falling short. Think of it this way, picture…
