OK guys so I just did day one, level 1 of 30day shred! O....M.....G!! :noway: My butt has been well and truly kicked (literally lol)! I have never hated my TV more than tonight! I have done a few fitness DVD's in the past but this is something else! I am sooooo gonna feel it tomorrow morning aren't I? Oh yeah!! I will be…

GREAT news that so many people have decided to start this at the same time as me. Yay! I am going to do mine tonight after my little fella is in bed and will report back afterwards. Look forward to seeing what your thoughts are (if you have never done it before). I am under no elusion here:huh: ................my butt is…

I wear a HRM and when I do Zumba on Wii I burn about 560kcal in 60mins. Its hard to know for sure as everyone is different etc. Height, weight, fitness etc. For accurate information I would get a HRM. Zumba is quite a good calorie burn. Hope you enjoy the class

Welcome! I've been on here for a few weeks now and its great for motivation/support/ideas etc.

I think herbal teas are very multi purpose. Sometimes I run a nice warm bath and drop 1 or 2 cammomile tea bags in to help me chillaxe. You can do this with most of the herbal teas. Makes bathtime all natural but nice & smelly - lol - in a good way!

I drink green tea every now and again just to change things up a bit. Good news is that Green Tea can help increase your metabolism - YAY!!!

I too find motivating myself a little tough cos I can't get out of the house to a gym (single parent issue) and can easily choose to stick the TV on and not do anything. But since I joined MFP I have had great support and now I try and do fitness DVD and wii zumba a few times a week once my boy is in bed and I always feel…

Too funny!!! Love it! Brightened up my monday - tee hee!!

 Welcome back. I've only been on here a couple weeks. Think the support is FAB! Feel free to add me.

I have the same HRM. Although I got mine brand new, as far as I am concerned I have to trust what it tells me. I do 60mins Zumba on Wii and I can burn nearly 600kcals. I am 5'4" 139lbs. I have an eliptical trainer too and that reported a 300kcl burn after 30mins (approx 12k in distance). I don't know much on the hard facts…

Don't be too hard on yourself!!! You had a minor slip up but lets face it.......this is the real world we live in and we are going to have days when things cannot be controlled - including food. Just think about the great night you had with your friend and let that positivity continue into other thoughts and just try to…

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Zumba for the Wii!!! I normally do a 45min routine and then tag on a 20min routine just cos I'm in the zone and don't want to stop dancing about!! LOL As for calories burned.......well I have a HRM and it said that after those 2 workouts that I had burnt about 580kcals!!! RESULT!!! Its a good giggle and…

Awwww, sorry to hear about your broken heart. I added my 7lb for the very same reason and I too cannot go back on WW as I stopped losing weight with them and am annoyed all my WW stuff is useless as they have changed their plan! Talk about a con to get you to buy new products from them! Anyway good luck with your journey…

My HRM said I had burned 560 ish calories after 60min Zumba. That means if I am only eating1200 cal per day anyway I am WAY below my calories for the day. I don't want to under eat cos I know that will not help me lose weight. Just went into my local health food shop and they were useless when I asked them for advise. I…

I did 60 mins Zumba and my HRM said I had burnt 560 or so calories. Then did 15 min arm work out with dumbells.

I've just invested in a HRM. You wear a comfortable strap around your chest and the watch is what displays the calories burned, heart rate zone etc. I forgot I had the chest strap once I started working out. I got a Polar HRM. It was £53 from amazon. I underestimated my Zumba workout on the Wii by 200 or more calories so I…

I normally have porridge - Yum!

I'm fairly new to home fitness DVD's but I am using a combination of Wii Zumba and Davina Body Buff. I occasionally use Wii active personal trainer but I find them a little tedious. Much prefer bopping about the living room to music! I cannot get to gym so these are the only options I have at my disposal.

Snap! I don't think it matters what you weigh or how much you want to lose. Its about how you feel about yourself! Some people are more muscle and not much fat and therefore might look slimmer than me but they weigh more on the scales. I definately think you need to feel comfortable in your own body and as long as you are…

Thanks to the people that replied to this thread already. Just wanted to update it. Being new to MFP I thought being friends with people meant just sticking to UK but now I realise how having friends from all over the world will just add more diverse support & motivation So everyone out there (not just from UK), I'd love…

Thanks for your opinions everyone. Ordered the polar ft4 yesterday! Hope I like it!

Hi again, Thanks for the responses - very useful. Do you wear the HRM on your wrist like a watch? Or a strap around chest? Looked on amazon but its not clear (sorry just thought I would ask the people that use it).

Good luck with your journey.

Hi. Good luck to you too

I'm 5'4" and although I would KILL to be 125lbs I am thinking a realistic 133lb. Guess it depends on shape of your body. If I lose too much weight I end up with NO BOOBS! I want to lose it off my bum & hips but thats always the last place I lose weight! Tricky. Add me as a friend - I could use like minded people to help me…

Wow..............those shakes are very sugary sweet huh! I have however lost 1lb in 2 days (great start!) and hope that I don't lose too much too quickly as I am not naive and I know its better to lose weight slowly. It was only my intention to kick start the weight loss and only had a plan to be on Slim Fast for 2 weeks.…

Thanks to everyone that posted a reply. Its all interesting reading. I am sure that the slim fast is a good way for the quickness but I already know how to eat healthy and so now unsure if I should just try to keep calories to 1200 per day and excersise 3 times a week. I do the excersise bit anyway so its just being 'good'…
