Going to see an RD was the best thing I ever did. If she doesn't do a body composition analysis ask if she can (mine used a really cool Tanita scale). That analysis does a fairly accurate analysis of what your body is made of - muscle, bone, fat and water - and then gives you a base metabolic rate (I think that's what it…

Just wondering how your toe is feeling and how the workout went!

I eat the same thing for lunch every weekday (and have for years) 50g oatmeal 20g raisins 20g dried cranberries 1 apple cinnamon to taste Cut up the apple, mix all ingredients, add water to cover, nuke for 2 minutes....listen to everyone at work say "that smells SO good"...let cool and enjoy! About 400 calories, a little…

If I put the piece of bread on the scale and then turn the scale on, the scale is at 0. Either way is fine though.

However, the calories you get from those processed carbohydrates are not going to satisfy you thus you will need to eat more calories to feel full. It's kind of a vicious cycle once you're aware of it. Get most of your carbs from…

I highly recommend consulting with a registered dietitian if at all possible. Check your local hospital, there is generally a weight management clinic where you can consult with one for a very reasonable price. The RD will perform as accurate a body composition analysis as you can find outside of a hydro-static chamber…
