You need to match your body's demand for calories when you're working out. Without exercising, it is amazing to always be under your calorie goal, but you need to eat more when you exercise, to fuel your muscles so that they can go to the fat burning level. Review your diaries and make sure that you aren't sending your…

I'm 17 and understand where you're coming from. Add me. ;3

Day before. Your body repairs itself once you go to bed, so the food/exercise you took in from the past day won't truly take effect until you sleep.

I love your splurge. In addition, people, think about this. You were once new and afraid of what world you were entering. Instead of trying to fumble through pages of internet information, much of it contradictory, you asked for personal accounts from people who knew their way around and you grew comfortable enough to…

I love Italian beef wraps. Tortilla shell with brown rice, sliced bell peppers(steamed) and warmed/browned roast beef(seasoned with pepper and a pinch of salt).

Friend me, all of you!!! :D I'm 5'7" and I weigh 159 pounds, though I teter between 159 and 160. My target weight is 135-140, depending on how I feel. Just because that's my target weight, it doesn't mean I have to make it. If I feel that my healthy weight is 140, then I'll stay there. I don't want to lose too much and…

I personally wouldn't care if you all had flabby tummies, just as long as you were healthy. I applaud all of you for giving birth to one or more kids, and I send up an encore in addition, since you are all trying to become more healthy. All over weight loss can help to tone the stomach. Targeted exercise doesn't help. (I,…

Think about this: Eating a large number of apples is the same as eating a small portion of chips. However, only one apple is a serving size. It's not just about how many calories you eat, but also about nutrient density. Junk food is not sufficient enough in necessary vitamins and minerals to provide your body with the…

More exercise means that you need a higher calorie intake because of the demand of the physical activity. The base line of calories is more or less for someone who leads a fairly sedentary lifestyle. If you work out a lot, but eat too little, then your body will freak and you might cease to lose weight. You'll begin to…

Use your calorie counter to see what kind of food/snack you might want. If anything, attack fruit and veggies, which can have high water content and are filling. Bright colours in fruit means that they have dense nutrient contents. Don't eat too much, but just enough to help yourself stop from feeling hungry.

Don't take it personally. Perhaps they are looking for active friends to surround themselves with.

I'll join ya'. :3 I'm curious though, what kinds of problems is he blaming on weight?

I find all of your ideas beneficial to your perspective selves, but I myself detest rewards. (Not for others, but in use for myself.) My reward is the knowledge that every day I keep up my routine, I make progress towards a healthier me.

At first I used this site merely for the calorie calculator, but since I found the online community, I've found additional motivation to keep up my regime. I hope you'll have the same luck in its use.

The only reason that sucralose is considered "healthy" is because it is not broken down easily by the body, and therefore yields little to no caloric value. It also tends to rid your body of "good bacteria" in the intestines that help to break down food. Just because it's fake does not mean you can go all out on it. It can…

Remember it for next time, then.

With any weight loss plan or change in routine, your menstrual cycle is bound to change. Being a week late could simply be chalked up to a result of changed habits/health. However, if you have a low fat percentile, late periods can provide warnings that there is something serious wrong and you risk becomming infertile. If…

Contact a dietician. Depending on if you want to lose fat, build muscle, gain tone, or maintain, you may need to adjust your calorie intake. For example: People who want to lose fat may choose to eat fewer calories but exercise more, while people wanting to build muscle or tone may choose to keep the intake equal to the…

As caty said, it depends on your calorie intake. Adjust your food intake to suit your workout routines. Following a strict, set diet made by someone else may not be the best for your own body. If you are truly worried, check with your physician or a professional dietician.

Absolutely DO NOT weigh yourself every day. Just because your scale says one number one day, and a different the next, does not incline that you gained/lost weight. I weight myself once a week, in the morning before breakfast and showering. That way, you cancel out the added load of food and/or clothing that may render the…

Running builds better tone than simple walking, because running is a more rigorous activity that tends to involve your entire body. However, a fast jog or an extensive bike ride can achieve the same results. If you have a personal gym or some such access to one, individualy work on muscle groups. Tire either your upper or…

Cathy, I suppose missing workouts isn't the end of the world, but I feel that if I do so in the first couple weeks of my "plan", then I will not succeed in establishing my 'dream routine'. Besides, since I'm on break from school, I figure that "I have no other distractions, so why not focus on health?". That way, when…

Cydonian, I found your ideas inspirational, moving exercises "into" my routine. I'm using my daily runs to get my foot into the door of regular exercise. I'm planning on playing some rigorous tennis matches with my spiteful sister in about an hour, so hopefully I can begin building my regime of workouts.

Trotter, I look at myself naked in the mirror every morning after my shower. The thing is, I am happy with my body. But I believe that improvement can be achieved anywhere and that insecurities can be quelled through personal improvement, thereby gaining confidence. -You all are wonderful, and I legitimately smiled when I…

To continue what I'm doing and see where I stand in 7 days, then 14 days, and so on. I want to trim up my body specifically in the thighs and waist, but I know that over all weight loss is more effective than targeted workouts. I am about 5'7", so I hope to see if a weight of 140lbs will be right for me.

Rice cakes are also delicious and Quaker cereals has a wide assortment of flavors and seasoned types. Of course the cakes still have calorie counts and have to be eaten in approproate portions, the sweet taste is a healthier substitution, though I'm not exactly sure by how much. I suppose it all depends on your individual…

I repeatedly snack throughout the day on fruit and veggies while having smaller meals instead of eating 2-3 large meals ad repeatedly receive comments about how I constantly munch. But the faster metabolism is sufficient compensation for the odd stares I get when I start on my 4th apple of the day before 1pm. :3
