Hi there, UK guy 48. I'm looking for new friends. I've been on here for more than two years now with varying degrees of success. Looking to get back on track though. John

Hi, looking for some new friends. Most of my existing ones seem to have given up!

Hi, I'm 47 and I've been a serious MFP user for a year now. My journey has been mainly around fitness goals. I'm working towards an off road trail half marathon in June and also a sprint triathlon. Good to see so many people motivated to improve their health and fitness!

Yes you definitely do get a buzz from doing a race! I personally prefer low-key local races where you just turn up compared to big charity events.

Great post. I did my first 10k race of the year last Sunday. I came 107th out of 110 but was reasonably pleased with my time of 68 minutes as I was coming off the back of a cold. Still it's given me an incentive to keep training, get better times and work my way up the leader board!

Hi, my piece of advice is to start off slowly and ease yourself into your stride. Run at your own pace and enjoy the run. As it's your first race, you will be guaranteed a personal best. After that you will want to run again and beat that time. Best of luck!!
