  • I've never been a fan of "Diet Pills". I've seen people I know go for the quick fix and they would gain everything they lost, plus some, as soon as they stopped the pills or bizarre food regimine. The other thing is you stated that your doctor said there "should" be no side effects or complications. "Should" leaves a lot…
  • I started c25k but the walking /running/walking thing didn't work for me. When I started it I was around 215 pounds. What I ended up doing was my own program. I had a starting point and a route mapped out that was a 1/2 mile out, 1/2 mile back to my starting point. I started by running or jogging until I couldn't go any…
  • 100% agree with you. I started running outside last fall running a mile in 14 or 15 minutes struggling the entire time. Now I can run a mile in 9 to 10 minutes and like you actually enjoy it. Tonight while I was running I was actually thinking of things I have to do this weekend. The run was over before I knew it. You're…
  • I too will pray for you and your dogs. I have four cats and would be devastated if even one were missing. Keep the faith and let us know when they are home!
  • Used to have headaches and heartburn all the time. Been almost 7 or 8 mos. since I've opened my bottle of Tums and rarely get headaches anymore. I attribute that to my weight loss!
  • I'm not a morning person either...never have been & never will be. But, I log my meals the day before that way I can see how much I need to exercise in order to eat what I want to. It may not be the best way to do it but if I see that I'm over calories by two or three hundred then not getting up in the morning isn't an…
  • Hi drnwell1, I started out in August of 2005 weighing 235 pounds. It's the heaviest I've ever been and I'm only 5'6". It took me a couple of years to lose 35 on my own and then I put back on 20 pounds. When I started MFP lat year I weighed 215 and I'm now at 178. What has really helped me is being consistent with logging…
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome to MFP! If you use the food logging diary and the exercise diary you can't help but lose weight. I try to log my food the day before, it's really the best way to stay within your calorie goal. Also, if you exercise MFP adds those calories back to what you can eat for the day. Some will say don't eat…
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome to MFP! If you use the food and exercise diaries they provide here you can't help but lose the weight that you want to. 37 of my 57 pounds lost have been since joining this site since last July. Good luck on your new weight loss journey!
  • I agree. I walk or run or both almost everyday. I walk to my starting point and sometimes I end up walking the entire two or three miles instead of running some of it. It just depends if it 's my day off and how much time I have. It's easier to get out there knowing you have a choice walk, run, both whatever I feel like on…
  • I am not a morning person either but that's the only time I have to exercise. You might try working toward a goal like entering a fun run/walk. That was my goal when I started walking outside last summer. I started walking, then jogged some, walked some and now I am actually running. Our fun run was cancelled due to…
  • WOW!!! You guys both look great! What an inspiration to keep going...:drinker:
  • I registered my husband and I for the race last night...will post on Sunday and let you know how we did. Thanks for all the advice and support!

  • I know nothing about ferrets other than they're cute...but bless you for rescuing this poor animal, if only until you find it's owner.
  • Congrats to you...I myself am struggling to get out of the 180's. Can't wait to join you in the 170's and beyond.
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome Future! You found a great site to help you start a new, healthier life. Just use the food and exercise diaries and you can't go wrong. Also remember we all have bad days where we don't exercise or eat the right foods, etc. Just count that up as one bad day but don't let it derail you from the bigger…
  • For level 1 I burn around 231 calories for a 25 minute workout. That is based on a 185 pound woman at 5'6" tall.
  • I started out to lose 100 pounds and you can see how far I've come. I've actually been working at this for 4 years but did manage to lose 35 pounds since last July while using this site. You can do this and MFP is a great place to be to lose it. Use the food and exercise diaries and watch your weight start dropping off.…
  • I did the 30 day shred wih my HRM on and I burned around 265 calories for 30 minutes. This was the beginner level, I am 5'6" and weighed around 190 when i got those results. I've lost about 9 pounds since then so I need to strap on the HRM and do the middle level and see what that burns. Hope this helps.
  • You have done great, keep it up! Do you notice that we almost have the same goals going here? Here's to all of our hard work and our future as healthier people:drinker:

  • I change mine every 5 pounds lost also.
  • I bought my Polar F11 at ****'s Sporting Goods store just because I didn't want to wait for it to come. You know the whole, "I want it now" thing.
  • That's the way it works with my husband...he'll be at his goal before I'm at mine. But in all fairness I have more to lose than he does. Tell her to keep it up though, you've both done great!
  • :flowerforyou: That's great and so exciting to see that number go down isn't it? Keep it up and you'll be at your goal weight before you know it!
  • How often you weigh is up to you and what you can handle. I personally weigh every morning but only log my Monday morning weight on MFP. Things can get out of hand for me in a weeks time so once a week is out of the question. Others can't handle the fluctuations they see daily on the scale but it doesn't bother me. I'm…
  • :flowerforyou: Awesome...congrats on the weight loss, you're on your way!
  • Did you already check the food diary? There are many TGI Friday's menu items there. If not try the Daily Plate. I usually get the Jack Daniels Chicken with mashed potatoes & veggies that comes to around 500 calories. Hope that helps.
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome to MFP!
