You are logging a lot of calories burned! Are you using a HRM for accurate measurement of calories burned? I burn about 300 calories on level 3 of the 30 day shred. Maybe you are not accurate on calories burned...just a thought. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

I bought 5's thinking that was what I needed for the DVD. Started it and realized I should have gotten 3's! I didn't want to buy new weights so I just pushed myself to use the 5's.

Oh, shred it with weights....I did the 30 day shred. So I guess I'm not sure what you would need...

I use 5 lb weights and it's pretty hard by the end. I also did the Ripped in 30 before the shred. I would start with 3 lbs. if you're a beginner. I think that's what they use in the DVD, because mine look bigger. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods

I really like Jillian Michaels dvds. They give you a really good work out in a short amount of time. She combines cardio and strength training. And they are under $10 or you can find time on Youtube too! With my heart rate monitor I burn apx. 280-300 with Ripped in 30 and 210-220 with 30 Day Shred.

I'm glad to hear level 2 is harder. I will do that tomorrow. Anyone try the Extreme shed and Shred yet? I am wondering if that would be a good one.

I would like to do P90X, but I can't keep my kids busy for an hour so I can workout...need something shorter :(

I am going to try level 2 tomorrow and see if that is any better. I did level 1 for 2 days and I walk away feeling like I didn't even workout!

I log absolutely everything, every day! I'm going on 40 days in a row for logging in. I log everything even if I know I went over and don't want to see the numbers. Logging in keeps in on track. Yes, I gained about 2 pounds the first 2 weeks. It was all muscle. I have since lost that plus some and have gain a lot of tone and muscles! I burn just over 300 on Ripped. For accurate calorie burn numbers you need to use a heart rate monitor. Buy one, you will love it!!

The only true way to know how many calories you burn is to use a heart rate monitor. I bought one last week and I LOVE it. I can do the same work out but burn different calories depending on if my kids are interrupting me or not. I love knowing exactly how many calories I burn with each workout!

I also changed my life style on MFP from sedentary to light activity now that I work out everyday. That bumps up my calories and maybe I will see a difference now. Because after working out my net calories was usually under 1,000 a day. It is getting had for me to eat more than that anymore. My appetite has gone way down…

I have been checking in everyday and staying within or under my calorie goal. Doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD, I am almost done with week 2. HOWEVER....the scale has gone up 2 lbs!!!! I know it has to be muscle, I can see a difference in my arms, abs, face and calves for sure. I just wish the numbers were changing…
