  • Me too! I"m slow, but I run. It makes me feel good and I do it for me. I'm healthier than everyone sitting on the couch! I'm all that matters anyway. Good for you for running.
  • I just found out its not the carb flu. Im pregnant! We have been trying for 2 years with reoccuring miscarriages and we are finally pregnant!
  • Thank You! It's great to hear you don't miss the old way you used to eat and that all the issues you had have gone away. Many of the issues you list (minus PCOS), but including hormonal issues are why I have chosen to switch to this way of life. It's refreshing to know I may have made the right choice. I hope I have as…
  • Thanks, I guess I have a little more time before all this passes and I feel awesome and can exercise again. I really want to start but I know if I do, I won't have any energy for anything else. Hopefully just a few more days. Thanks
  • Thanks. I'm hoping the carb flu will pass soon. It's nice to know yours passed around 10 days, maybe I'll feel better by this weekend. I want to get back to exercising again, but I know if I do it now, I'll just want to lay on the couch for hours afterwards and I can't do that. I have a toddler to chase around! As for my…
  • I'm feeling better today, but I still don't feel that I have enough energy to exercise yet. I still have some lingering carb flu symptoms. Do you remember how long it took you to feel 100% and ready to tackle every day to the fullest?
  • My parents are 50, obese, have no clue what healthy food is (they think they know), and they can't hardly keep up with my 2 year old. They are slowly killing themselves with their unhealthy lifestyle. I don't want to be them when I'm 50 and I want better for my daughter. I want her to know what real exercise looks like and…
  • My first 5k was 35 minutes with a few hills included on the way back. I wasn't near the front of the runners, but I was not the last by a long shot either. I did walk some, but I finished! I wouldn't compare yourself to others, just be proud your running and taking care of yourself. I would love to do 10 minute miles, but…
  • I quit for my child. My mother always smoked and always said she would quit. As a teen, I started smoking and completly denied it was because my mom smoked. As an adult, I've come to realize how many habits I picked up that my mother taught me, no matter if she meant to teach them to me or not. As an adult, I have now…
  • I have a nice treadmill that tracks calories. However, once I bought a HRM, I realized my treadmill was estimating my calories at about 40 to 70 more a mile than I was really running.
  • No matter how fast you run, your lapping everyone on the couch. That's what I remind myself of when I run. I've learned to love to run and I'm slow at it. that's ok though, I love it and it makes me feel good. What I've found also is that runners are all supportive of eachother, fast, slow, skinny, fat, runners are just…
  • I'm not in your shoes, but wanted to send you a little advice. I currently have a 2 year old. I have always known that kids learn from their parents, but I never realized how much they learn from their parents till I had a child of my own. My daughter has been watching me so closely for 6 months that she actually basis…
  • I am the wife to a husband who is gone 4 to 7 days a week. Together, we have a wonderful 2 year old daughter and I feel like I raise her by myself most of the time. I want to be healthy for my daughter, I want her to know what "healthy" is, not what "skinny" is. I want her to have the basis to make good choices in life and…
  • Get on Pinterest.com and search for fitness and exercise. There are all kinds of programs you can do at home and the only requirement is you push yourself as hard as you can. I struggle with them because if I do 50 push ups, 20 sit ups, ect by myself, I go slow and get bored. However if that's what you enjoy and you stay…
  • I love running outside the best, but I don't like running at night. I'm always concerned about safety and that's why I don't run at night (at least dark I mean). During the winter I run inside on my treadmill. It's kind of boring so I add in more DVD's also. In the spring and Summer, I'm outside as much as possible!
  • If chasing a toddler burnt enough calories to count as exercise, I'd be stick thin. I promise that!
  • Great suggestion, How is insulin resistance diagnosed? My friend has a medical diagnosis of PCOS, her triglycerides are very high, she is over weight, not losing weight, so the doctor said insulin resistance. I'm not super over weight, don't have PCOS, I'm sure my triglycerides are high (always are), and I'm not over…
  • I do eat lots of fruit for a snack. I love fruit so much. I probably eat 3 servings of fruit a day. Maybe I should try to cut that out first and then do the full diet if that doesn't work. Thanks
  • I'm going to try to answer this as best as possible. I appreciate the interest. I am 150lbs, 5 foot 4 inches, and last I remember according to a military body fat percentage website, I'm around 30% body fat. I'm a total apple shape, with no doubt. Large thighs, hips, and booty, with no top half. I try to eat the "insanity"…
  • I too have noticed less calorie burn than others. No matter how hard I have tried to push it. At least now I know it's not me. It's nice to know others are having some of the same issues.
  • Thanks for the input, I'll make sure I keep up with the clean eating! It seems to be helping my results through Supreme 90. I never realized how important nutrition was to health until I started MFP.
  • I had the same issue for a few weeks. I went to my Chriopractor 2 times and now my knee feels much better. It still hurts a little if I walk to hard or twist it, but I'm going back 1 more time. I think something was out of place.
  • Great. I was hoping Supreme 90 would give me enough strength to start insanity. I'm feeling more fit, just wish I was one of those people who could loose 10 pounds in a month. I'll probably never get those results!
  • I really figure I will only loose a few pounds also and just tone up. Seems like I can't get under 145 ever. I'm glad that even though you didn't loose a ton of weight, you still recommend Insanity.
  • I worked through day 20 on supreme 90, but it took me 2 months. I took 2 weeks off and decided to restart supreme 90 and become more dedicated, with a healthy diet also. I'm now on day 22 and eating good and seeing some results. I can't stick to the calendar exactly because of work and traveling, but I do the best I can to…
  • Thanks everyone. I'm thinking I need to try to find a good shoe store first and figure out what type of shoe I need. I'm probably also pushing myself harder than I should at this point (which I usually do), so I need to take a rest day instead of running 6 days a week. I only run for 3 to 6 miles a night, but I'm just…
  • Thanks for posting this. I keep going up 1 or 2 lbs every 1 1/2 weeks and then will all of a sudden drop the lbs I added and lose a lb or 2 more. I was just thinking this morning, "I wonder if gaining and loosing so often is normal?" Especially because I eat the right amount of calories, sometimes 10 more than I'm supposed…
