Guess what? Breathing will kill you. Eventually. Every single thing you do will ultimately bring you closer to ending your life. And while it's true that certain actions (smoking, drinking, overeating, drugs) can speed up that process, unless we start imposing substance regulations on sugar and fat, we can't tell people…

Where are you seeing that on this thread, exactly?

And what do we do when that sort of thing doesn't work? I am not advocating shaming, but all those things you mentioned already exist. People choose not to take advantage of them, that's all. A membership at the YMCA costs very, very little, especially if you qualify for aid. You can look up all sorts of free instructional…

Pictures speak louder than words, they always have. I can't say that I am "pleased" by those ads, but they are very effective and it is less about "shaming" and more about health and targeting bad parenting.

The point... you've missed it.

What is your obsession with feces, noob?

The only ones that made me roll my eyes in annoyance were the PETA ones... but who takes them seriously these days anyway? I actually liked the one with the lines on the body "going for walks on lunch hour / cooking healthier meals", and the oatmeal sign. Those types of things are motivating to me. The e-cig one just made…

This is me! I've been driving since I was 17 (and am now 25) and would much rather be the DD and take everyone else home than sit in the passenger seat-- the only exception to this is when I'm unfamiliar with the area (such as going on vacation out of state), or when I'm simply too exhausted to focus.
-
I was PETRIFIED to learn how to drive at 17, but I desperately wanted the freedom that came with it, and to prove to myself that I COULD do it. I can't imagine not being able to drive; it literally became a form of escapism for me for a while, when I was at my highest weight and didn't want to work out... /cough Really, my…

Daaaaaayum. I thought this was going to be an "in-progress" post just from the numbers but you are looking damn FINE at 220! Must be all that muscle... Congratulations!
-
Ahahaha... okay I couldn't resist...
-
Fixed it for you.

This thread belongs in "Chit-Chat, Fun & Games"... not the srsbsns threads where people will not sense your sarcasm

I'm down a pound, 234 now from 235 at the start :)

Your husband does sound oversensitive. I applaud you, OP, for realizing that this guy may be a d!ck, but what he says shouldn't get to you. Because it doesn't matter. I totally agree with other people who have said to call him out on his rude behavior, but only for things like criticizing a restaurant where he's getting a…

Um... how, exactly, is she supposed to "break up" with her sister's fiance?
-
She is hot!! And that damned "want you back" song is so catchy, she's practically the new Ke$ha (who's also my guilty pleasure lol)
-
When I was on my last period, I woke up feeling cranky and with a huge craving for sugar. I indulged it by making my breakfast several cookies and some trail mix with dark chocolate (I picked out a lot of the dark chocolate bits, lol). It was satisfying to the taste, but a couple hours later I was even MORE cranky because…

I must say, I read all the choices and found myself in all of them  it's fun to play around with but I've never bought into anything scientific regarding sleeping position. That being said, I am both gullible and cynical at the same time (C), and though I sometimes end up on my back in the middle of the night (A),…

Props to your man! Jelly legs means a job well done.

We can't have that! I generally try to keep a cup of water by the bed for this reason

Hahahah! Good answer

Oh, hey, it's you. This argument again?

Ehhhhh... correlation does not imply causation. As much as I'd love to hop on this bandwagon, I have to point out this one very important caveat -- The states with the high pollution levels also have a lot of urban areas. Urbanites tend to have more "white collar" jobs, i.e. more sedentary / less physically intensive. Also…

This is very very true, and one point that I get annoyed stoners are always trying to make. Smoke is smoke is smoke is smoke, and even though there have been no official links from marijuana to cancer, there ARE links to emphysema and other lung diseases. THC in and of itself has no drawbacks except developing a slight…

Most people have a hard time dealing with their stress in ONLY healthy ways. If it's not a substance they're using, it's subtler / less conscious actions like yelling, driving too fast, punching things, working out so hard they injure themselves, sleeping all day or not at all, being antisocial, never wanting to be…

Uhm... I thought it was VERY accurate, and that's why I posted it! The fridge part especially... I caught myself and friends staring into the wonderful abyss of the fridge on many, many occasions. I mean, of course, not everyone who smokes is like this. Highs vary depending on the quality of the weed and…
