we have chickens here and the way we test eggs that somehow haven't been eaten straight away is the float test fill a bowl with water and place the egg in it, if the egg lies flat it's fine to eat, if it stands on end then it's gone bad hope you enjoy your egg, the fresher the better in my opinion
