It's not a bad idea to take care of yourself. I just wonder how you will be able to keep up the exercise once you go back to work. Taking a 3 month hiatus to work out is nice but it's not real life. I have a belly band that I love to use. It holds my small gun pretty securely. You can find them online or at an army navy store.

I have a thomas' thin sliced whole wheat bagel, with some ham and cheese on it, less than 300 calories and it stays with you for a while!!
