• What?! That's insane!!! Why on earth did they give it to you? That's really sad if you were progressing nicely and they pumped it in you.... And to eye roll at the request for epidural?? Weird too..... From what we learned pitocin increases need for epidural in some cases because Mama skips early labor and the gradual…
• Welcome and congratulations! I'm off to a breast feeding class tonight, have you taken one? I'll share if I learn anything interesting
• Interesting, because they touched on that pitocin (although they call it something different here) can make it harder and longer on mamas in some cases. That sucks it was so bad for you :frown: here's to a better experience this time! I've had the Tens machine in physical therapy, but had never heard of it for labor until…
• Hi Ladies, Some of you are getting so close! How exciting!!! We took our prenatal classes this weekend. It was helpful since we are in a new country and we learned the different terminology, etc. One great tidbit here is they give "walking epidurals" here, so you can still move about with some assistance. You can birth…
• Congratulations!!!!
• Anyone try VEET?
• It's so funny you ask this, I decided to go in blindly last night with my new electric razor and managed to draw blood!!! No way am I risking waxing if its that sensitive. I use this instead of scissors; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003EMM4P0/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Which has worked well. I've had…
• Great idea! We didn't I think of that Thank you!
• That's so sweet :) I was looking at this; http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2012/11/nurse-thank-you-gifts.html Here's some other ideas; http://www.johnnyinadress.com/2012/07/labor-delivery-nurse-gift-baskets.html
• Hi, To those who BF and had their baby sleep in their room with them, was there a night light you recommend for middle of the night feedings? The lamp on the nightstand seems too bright. What about this? Too complicated? http://www.nursinglight.com/
• Congratulations!!!!!!
• Tara- congrats on you healthy babies! What wonderful news regarding the club foot too! Hope you're doing well :flowerforyou: Lady & Sally, thanks ladies for the input.
• Don't feel bad, I had severe nausea too until about 15-16 weeks. In addition to Zofran I had to eat crackers, etc all the time to keep from puking. My weight leveled out once the nasuea subsided. Hang in there!
• Good point, this backup midwife isn't aware we're paying out of pocket.
• Awesome ladies!! Thanks for all the tips, I will definitely check out those ultrasound places, duh why didn't I think of that?! They just referred us to the hospital we're delivering at for the ultrasound. Good to know you're not checked for position until later, so I feel ok waiting. And I've seen spinning babies, great…
• I mean is it common for a baby to flip 180 at 33 weeks? I thought it was cramped in there.
• Hi Ladies, Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Jess, you're getting close! How exciting. LadyJocc- I just spent a ridiculous amount on an Etsy baby book :frown: my dachshund mobile and stuffed animal arrived yesterday. what have you been buying? RBX & MormomMama- glad to hear your kiddos are transitioning well to the new…
• Thanks ladies!:flowerforyou:
• Hi there, Sorry about the stress the diagnosis has brought on. I too was diagnosed early in pregnancy with hypothyroidism, but unlike you I had hypo symptoms for 3 years. I'm 33 weeks now and baby is doing fine. I'm not gonna lie, trying to get my numbers right is like an endless game. Too high, too low. Ugh :/ I hear of…
• Thanks MormonMama for the links and info :) RBX- I've noticed you're a dog lover! It's been hard to find girly dog stuff, let me tell you! My mom said, this girl better love dogs! Haha How's everyone else doing? I'm doing ok, tired and feeling lots of pressure on my bladder, baby dropping? Lots of movement and hiccups. Not…
• Thanks ladies for your help and replies! :flowerforyou: you're awesome! I "lurk" on another baby board and the snarky cattiness keeps me from asking questions :frown: QUESTION: Are Prenatal classes "worth" it? I've had a few people tell me it was a waste of time and money. And adding on to Kerri's suggestion; QUESTION:…
• Hi & Congrats! I was doing NROLFW when I got pregnant and continued until severe morning sickness set in. I would have continued but I was so sick there was no way. I think if you're symptom free and your doctor or midwife is ok with it, go on. Once you get further along it would be hard to continue to lift heavy in my…
• Hi Ladies! LadyJocc, fruit was soooo yummy and really fruit has been my only craving, so it was heaven. Lady & RBX, totally hear you on the bathroom breaks! We walk to the park and about 10 minutes into the walk I already have to pee! RBX- my mom didn't fly until she was 40, so I feel for you. She still won't fly alone,…
• QUESTION: at what point in labor did you feel like you needed pain relief? Did anyone use a jacuzzi tub for pain relief and did it help? (I know this is subjective and everyone is different, curious as to your point of view)
•
Worst things ever. They made the room not smell, til you open it to in another diaper or change the bag then you were gagging. We started using grocery bags to individually wrap each diaper then take out the baby trash everyday.
So glad to hear this! This is our plan and we haven't purchased a diaper…
• I just moved to Canada a week ago and completed my testing in the US before moving here. My midwife in Canada predicted I would fail the 1 hour as its unreliable and she was right. I won't do the 1 hour again (if I get pregnant again). I have a friend in the US who's OB only does 2 hour and then 3 hour so maybe some docs…
• Great question! Piggybacking on this question, are Diaper Genie type garbage bins really needed?
• Kelly- interesting, I've never heard that before and I actually bought some of those shirts, I'll definitely ask my midwife about it too. Thanks for the heads up. Rosy- I'm sure glad to hear your recommendation about white noise, we sleep with a loud fan every night for the white noise I'd be sad if we had to get rid of it…
• These tests stressed me out too! I failed the 1 hour at 143, then passed the 3 hour with no problem. I think my fasting draw was in the 70's and my highest draw after drinking the disgusting drink was 110-ish. PS, I got so sick from the drink ..... They have a chair and private room they gave to me as I was trying to keep…
