  • I was just wondering if it would taste good with soy chorizo! Recipe sounds delish, thanks for sharing!
  • Isn't that an awesome feeling? Congrats!
  • I'll have to let my sister know this--I definitely got the shorter end of the stick on both my mother's and father's side. She's a large J, and is also doing MFP. She's hoping to lose some up top, hates having to get all of her bras special ordered :(
  • Wow, nicely done! Congrats, you look great :)
  • Are you still losing, or are you in maintenance? I don't mind being a bit big on top, I have been for years, but I look ridiculous now. My sister told me I look like one of those caricatures that street artists sketch for you :)
  • Yeah, my thighs aren't budging either. Would be almost down 2 sizes if they were, they're definitely holding me back!
  • That's awesome! That's the kind of motivation that will see you through your goal :)
  • That's awesome, congrats! And about your 'cheesesteak' stomach--when I lost weight after my second child I had the same thing. I called it my shelf--a bunch of horrid, wrinkly skin. My hubby kept telling me to do situps, it killed me when he never realized that it was loose, ruined skin. But you know what? I had a third…
  • Congrats! That's awesome :D
  • You know, I stalled when I drove 7 hours on a Fri, then 7 back on a Sun. Didn't gain any, but didn't lose any. The sucky thing is I didn't lose the same amount of weight that I normally do. Wasn't Aunt Flow, drank a TON of water and stayed on my diet. I'm guessing that I just hit a snag. After that I've kept to about 2lbs…
  • Big congrats! WTG :)
  • Woot! First day of the challenge, and I'm halfway there. Better switch out the Gatorade, huh? I also never posted my weight when I said I was in, 171.8 at last check-in.
  • The way I understand it is that you pick what type of lifestyle you have at the beginning. If you pick one of the more active ones, then yeah, you wouldn't log all of your day to day stuff. But if you pick the first one or two you would, as you're busier than your lifestyle choice allows for. Make sense? And about logging…
  • Welcome! The way I avoid snacking is to buy snacks that I don't like. The wrong chips, the wrong kind of ice cream, icky candy...that way the family can still have it on occasion, but I'm out of luck. Water also helps, as well as staying as busy as you can the first week or two. GL on your journey!
  • Potassium is found in many different plants, including green leafy veggies. I struggle with this as well, and I feel that it's important to have much more of it in my diet. Have no problem with it's evil clone (well, we used to think it was the same thing) sodium, but I'm just not eating enough of the right things for the…

  • I am so glad that there are others with a similar situation to me. Makes it easier to cope :)
  • Just checked mine, and I seem to waffle between 20 over and almost 50 over. My total carbs are in check, and until I hit a plateau I'm good. If I worry about staying within goal on everything I get overwhelmed, discouraged, and stop. This is the best I've ever done dieting, and I pay attention to fat, cal, carbs, and fiber…
  • SwinginChandra--I agree, totally not worth the gain! It must be hard when he likes larger women, my sister is in a similar boat. And what about finding a place to donate the baked goods? School bake sales, community fund raisers? I'm a baker as well, but I have no problem not eating my own. Part of the reason I bake so…
  • Night Pamela! I should be hitting the hay as well. Waiting for my late night stack to process though :) And about the flowers--he actually did buy me some the other day! I was shocked, as it wasn't Mother's day or anything like that. It's an awesome idea though, I love having flowers for the table.
  • That is totally, and completely awesome. Just freaking awesome. To have the dedication, and stick with it--that is definitely something to be proud of. If you can accomplish this you can do anything, and I mean anything! Congrats, congrats. I'm going to point my sister to this post so that she knows that it CAN be done.…
  • I'm not sure which game you're referring to, but I just started using the DanceDance revolution and I love it! It's not so much a strength or pinpointed exercise, but an overall cardio. It's fun, and my plan is to start incorporating other more traditional exercises when I can.
  • Loves challenges...I lol'd at that one :) And Mericksmom, feel free to add me if you need any extra support. (hopefully I got the right screen name down) Sometimes I think it's harder for those who have thinner spouses/SOs, it's so easy to get discouraged. Especially if they say things like why don't you just quit, you're…
  • Bevvykins--I gained my weight after children as well. Lost it after my second, but gained it back and then some after my third. And Pamela3--when you mentioned that he loves you thick or thin, but you have to lose to see it his way...that is EXACTLY how I feel. I personally couldn't imagine him loving the way I look now. I…
  • Oh! I forgot to mention, the first week I started dieting we went to Dariy Queen THREE TIMES! I was like, seriously???? The first time I had a mini blizzard, but when I got home and looked up the calories I about died. The other two times I had a diet Orange Julius, but wow. He doesn't egg me on to eat or anything like…
  • I use weight gain as a sex deterrent with my kids. My girls are in awesome shape (my seven year old can do 8 pull ups on the pull up bar if she climbs on the counter and latches on herself, or 14 if someone picks her up to it), and they wonder why I'm heavy. I let them know that pregnancy can change a woman's body :) Of…
  • Some of the Walden Farms (zero everything) ones aren't too bad, but I usually like making mine better. If you go to eatingwell.com they have plenty of recipies that are pretty healthy. Some of them have more calories than others, but you won't be eating as much processed stuff.
  • That my husband, he won't touch what I eat. Money is a bit tight right now, but as soon as the garden starts producing I will be all over the fresh veggies. He has slowly gotten used to not eating a ton of processed junk, but like I said in my post you can use whole foods and still eat high cal/fat. He's not a cook, but he…
  • That was my first mini goal as well, and they're starting to peek through! AWESOME job on knocking the chub rub. BK (before kids, those were the awesome years for my body  ) I was quite active and very thin, and my thighs still touched. Not sure if I'll get there, but I'll definitely add it to my list. Congrats…
  • Sounds like it's perfect for me, I'm in! I have so much to do in June, was worrying about a possible derailment.
  • I have about seven or eight days, right before and during Auntie's visit that I crave sweet. Can't stand pudding, fruit will cut if occasionally (agree on the HoneyCrisp or PinkLady apples, my two absolute faves) but there are some days that it's just not enough. When I'm having one of those days I'll save a bit of…
