I want to get into weight lifting. The thing is I'm a professional (read desk job) and work about 35-40minutes from home without traffic. Traffic is horrible by 6am. SO I figure if I get up at 4am. Out bu 4:30am. At the gym by 5:00 workout for 30 -45minutes. Get ready (I'm a girl) and be at my desk primed and ready to go…

Awesome Sauce! I'm Slammed at work right now but I'll try to set up this group and post on here when it's done. Stay tuned and check your notifications! I will add everyone's name that responded in a post so you know where to find the group! :)

I would dump the yogurt dressing and make a homemade oil based vinaigrette. The yogurt has carbs as do most non cheese foods. I would also take a hard look at your protein powder. It's got a nice hit for carbs too.

Wait we are supposed to be counting Stevia? :( I allow myself 1 stevia in my green tea daily. *head on desk*

I eat a lot more vegetables now than I did when I was noshing on the muffin at the local coffee shop. I also eat almonds for a snack. I just don't feel guilty for eating fat anymore. This is probably closer to how we are Meant to eat. Think about it, Healthy Meats, Lots of vegetables with limited junk. It's just a new…

Funny I just proposed a group for NEAT challenges.

I'm thinking I need to talk to my doctor. My heart rate was at 120 this morning just walking around. I ate some salt on my eggs and avocado and its slowly starting to come back down. I'm wary of over dosing electrolytes because that is as dangerous as under dosing.

But by focussing on net carbs you are getting enough carbs and fiber. Focussing on total carbs may result in consumption of carbs that don't meet your needs.

My calorie goal is about 1400kCal. Although I routinely go over that closer to 1500. According to MFP and my fitness watch I burn (without exercise) about 1800kCal per day. I am 5'3" 201.4lbs. When you take into my body comp... I'm pretty sure this is not unreasonable. Side note: 4 years ago (pre baby) I lifted weights…

I'm so confused now I thought keto meant 70 to 80% of your calories from fat. If I'm eating > 70g of protein my fat calories hit around 55 to 60 percent of the diet.

eat less and move what you can. Can you move your arms? do that. Can you wiggle your feet. do that. Every single movement you make can contribute to your total expenditure. Control what you can. Calories in, and move what you can.

So is it reasonable for some of us to say Keto/Low Carb works because we aren't as hungry. I'm pretty sure I never thought that I was going to magically lose weight without a caloric deficit. BUT being a busy working mother I also need a diet that has more upside than down. So for me: Keto/High Protien/Low carb: - Allows…

:/ I'm so confused. So which way do you go to limit LBM loss and maximize fat loss?

I'm looking for S Health friends too

Awesome post. Although i disagree about the will power part. It does exist, it's called the prefrontal cortex and most of us are using it wrong. I suggest anyone struggling with a habbit change read "Will Power Instinct " by Kelly McGonigal. You will probably realize that you're psyching yourself out more often than not.

Well nuts. I've been doing this for about a month. Based on what you're saying I'be probably lost LBM. I havent tested Ketones because I keep reading it's worthless. BUT I haven't touched sugar bread, starchy veggies, or fruit since the day after Christmas. My cheat "moments" was a couple glasses of red wine and a vodka…

The caffeine, potassium, and sodium (salts) are what contribute to the kidney stones. I am very well versed because I am a "Stoner" having my first kidney stones at the age of 14. AND This is the reason I finally got rid of caffeine, and sodas due to the salts included in the beverages (even diet). Not to mention the…

That is not what my dentist or my doctors say.

I would like to 100% eliminate it. But for now, I'm going to once a day smallest dose possible. I am a LONG LONG time consumer of heavy amounts of caffeine. At one point in my life I was consuming as many as 800mg of caffiene (and that is a conservative estimate) I'm on a stressful project right now so I figure once it's…

I have ethics against wheat, corn, and rice. Especially rice since where I live it's a key crop but it requires so much clean water it actually causes problems for the local wild life, citizens and animals in the Summers where drought is problemmatic. Unethical farming practices are also killing the rainforests and…

I don't see "Samsung Health" On the list of apps for MFP. What am I missing.

Just my two cents... Since Keto is rally about making every bite count I would go for greens that offer more micros per bite. Example: Fresh Spinach is a great source of iron and fol ate. Romaine is high is Vitamin C (As are tomatoes) Point being because this diet is so restrictive (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) we…

Bump for any newbies. habit change is a big part of dieting

stop scolding yourself. That's your first mistake. Research has proven that when we beat ourselves up for "slipping up" we are actually likely to repeat the same behavior. Start by forgiving yourself when you slip. Say "Oops I slipped once. But it doesn't mean I have to do it again" Then when you crave the food or whatever…
