The really bad thing is NOT starting over. For over a year and a half I must have started over 100 times. But somehow, about 5 weeks ago I started over and didn't stop. I don't know what it is that makes it doable one time when it wasn't before, but it happens. I would be interested to know if anyone knows why, all of a…

Your story is very inspiring. My Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 5 years ago and it gets harder every day dealing with what's happening to her. I don't have all your other stresses, but that one alone caused me to gain 30 lbs in 2 years. But I realized that letting myself get unfit, fat and unhealthy wasn't just…

working out is great, it really helps firm you up and stops the sagging as you're losing weight, but on it's own will not drop the pounds. Eating really is the key to losing weight. I was a fit overweight person, now I want to be a fit normal weight person. I log daily. this helps me. I stay focused. I find that when I…

two closets full of clothes I can't wear, fitting into the last of the large size I have and having to shop for bigger sizes. Oh and getting healthy of course.

I have a very eclectic collection of playlists. Sometimes I listen to a whole musical... like Evita or Les Miserable. I find that I can concentrate on the story, I love the movie and it really helps a long distance training session go quickly. Sometimes I listen to audiobooks, again this helps the long runs go by quickly.…

You should be proud... isn't it amazing how much we can do when we put our minds to it!!!! Sky is the limit. Keep at it.

I hear you... boy do I hear you. But let me be your cautionary tale. I divorced mine a year and a half ago after a faithful and successful 4 years. We started to have daily struggles. I wanted the numbers to go down, Mr. Scale insisted they go up. It was a roller coaster.. up/down... up/down. I had had it. I was working…

three weeks ago, I decided to get my act together and get serious... so for the past 3 weeks I've been diligently tracking calories and staying on track eating. I only went over 1 day (Thanksgiving Day in Canada) and today I weighed in having lost 7.5 lbs. So yes, as others have mentioned, you can lose weight by diet…

I hate that people come to the gym and then sit on machines to chat to their friends. I know I can ask them to move, but really, how inconsiderate. If they want to chat, they can do it somewhere where they are not taking up gym equipment. I don't think that's too much to ask.

My starting weight was a couple of weeks ago. I lost 4.5 lbs in the first week, but generally I'll try this one, I'm a slow loser, but 1 lb a week should do doable SW: 178.5 CW: 174 GW: 170 Weigh in Dates: 10/1 : 174 10/8 10/15 10/22 10/31 Total weight lost:

ok... so here's my question... why is it ok for people to tell you..."oh you've lost so much weight" ... "stop dieting now"... "you've lost too much weight"... "you look great now, don't lose any more weight" ... etc... why is that ok? In many cases, the person has lost significant weight, but is not at goal or even at a…

I did not lose my weight solely by walking, although I did incorporate walking into my exercise regime. I've walked a lot. I've trained for and completed 4 half marathons and numerous 5 and 10 K's. It is a really good exercise for cardio and toning. But I don't think that walking alone will get you where you want to go.…

Hi all, I'm from Toronto, Canada.

Actually I have a Jan 1st goal... started it last week and it's 15 lbs in 15 weeks. I know it may sound too easy and originally I had set it at 20 lbs in 15 weeks, but I didn't want to set myself up for failure. I lose weight slowly, don't know why, maybe it's my age or I just have a slower metabolism than others. But 15…

 I'm 5'3" and my goal is 141 for WW's so that I can be lifetime, but ultimately I want to be 135-138. It's a bit high, but I work out regularly and am older now, so being too thin doesn't look as good as when I was younger.

It is a really big deal. I'm scared stiff to try on my summer clothes from the last two years because I've gained 10 lbs! I'm working so hard to get it off. I had lost 60 lbs and bought all new clothes in size 8 & 10 and gave away ALL my size 16 & 18 clothes. I totally refuse to buy just 1 item until I'm at least at the…
