Veggie since 2011 - I was vegan for about nine months, but just recently started re-introducing a small amount of dairy into my diet.

I make my own almond milk, as it is relatively easy and inexpensive. I can use the almond pulp left over after the straining process to make a variety of different things as well.

That is not an itty bitty milestone, that's a huge success, and you should be very proud! Keep it up!

I deleted every social media site I was a part of except MFP. And Tumblr/Pinterest... I need a place to blog and another to find awesome recipes!

Lunch was kale and roasted beet salad with feta and blueberries, and Bragg's berry vinaigrette. Then I made a spinach/pineapple/banana protein shake to take back to work with me that I'm sippin' on now.

It's all about that plain 0% fah-yeh Mix whatever I'm feeling like in, or throw it in a smoothie, or use it in baking, or blend with fruit and freeze for dessert, or use it as sour scream... Pretty much addicted.

I am proud of myself today because I have no reason not to be. Everything I am today, in this moment, I am because of my many accomplishments and mistakes.

My ex and his entire family have a genuine hate for people who are overweight. They really disliked me when I first met them, and was around 160 lbs (I have no idea why my ex even dated me; he always went on about how fat people are "disgusting") ... problem is, they never saw me as anything other than that even after…

Awesome! You are beautiful! I was at 180 at 20 years old as well - dropped the weight (over 50lbs!), got dropped by the guy, and now just enjoying my life until I inevitably meet the right person. Great motivation!

If it's your first time ever having a green smoothie, I would recommend starting out with spinach rather than kale as it's sort of an acquired taste. Build up to it! But honestly, I can hardly taste the greens over the sweetness of the fruit. I think using a good protein powder can also aid in covering any "earthy" tastes.…

I love my hands. I love my back. I love my freckles. I love all my tattoos, even the silly ones I got without thinking them through.

I've struggled a lot with binge-eating. I really found the book Intuitive Eating to be helpful. It delves into the reasons why we binge, and how to make peace with food and ourselves. 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating 1. Reject the Diet Mentality 2. Honor Your Hunger 3. Make Peace with Food 4. Challenge the Food Police 5.…

I was attempting to prove the point that weight, size, and numbers in general are often irrelevant in indications of one's fitness. I've had a lot of personal experience with body image issues, so whereas you may see it as an assumption on my part I see "WHY AM I STILL FAT :(" as something I have often thought to myself,…

My best advice to anyone who is going vegan is to make the change gradually, so as to accustom the taste buds and also retrain the brain. I post on the following website every now and then - it is not a vegan blog! We're just a group of friends that have committed to eating vegan once a week (although some of us are…

You're not fat. I'm 5'5" and a size 0 and guess how much I weigh? 135-140 I actually used to weigh 120, but I've put on a lot of muscle since then. I know what it's like to want to see the magic number on the scale, but trust me - it isn't everything. I would suggest toning up; Don't be afraid to try strength training and…

Thanks... I deactivated/deleted all my profiles on social media sites... unfortunately, I don't possess the will power to leave it be and I've already found myself snooping around again. It's going to be a tough habit to break, for sure - but I'm going to take it one day at a time until I eventually it happens. Per your…

A huge heartfelt thanks to you all for your words of wisdom and advice - I'm going to deactivate my social media accounts and try to spend more time doing things that benefit me rather than keeping tabs on him.

Rodney Yee AM Yoga is great for beginners (5 20min sequences on 1 disc) Kathryn Budig's Aim True is great for toning up and a favorite (25min and 60min practice on 1 disc) Yoga Meltdown is a hardcore workout (Level 1&2, 25min each on 1 disc) YogaGlo.com is a great website that works much like Netflix that provides…

Rodney Yee's AM Yoga for your Week got me started on my health and wellness journey... First "fitness" dvd I ever tried, first "workout" I ever did after deciding to lose weight, and first yoga "class" I ever took. 2 years later, I've lost 60lbs and earned my Registered Yoga Teacher 200hr certification.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing!

It's strange, because two years ago when I was 20 and 180 pounds I remember being happier than I am now, in some aspects. I was an overweight binge-drinker that smoked a pack a day and ate whatever I wanted without any issues about my body image. I knew I was unhealthy, I knew I was overweight, but I was okay with it.…

The biggest challenge for me in eating intuitively is learning to listen to my body. It takes a monumental amount of self-reflection and self-control to slow down the process by which we think about the role of food in our lives and make an informed, grounded decision about what to eat, when, where, how much, and why.…

Stop looking at the big picture. Losing weight is a lot like quitting an addiction. Take it one day at a time.

30 Day Shred is legit. My ex bought it for me, and I will never forget the time I talked him into trying it... He liked to think he was in perfect shape, and figured since the workout is geared towards women it would be cake but he struggled to keep up with me. It was only Level 2!
