Yes, the guy in the race knows he's famous. They had him on Good Morning America one morning...he looked good there, but not near as good as the race pic of him.

If you have a non-cotton baseball hat, you may want to wear that to shield against rain hitting your face. Will they pick up clothing thrown along the course and let you pick it up afterwards? If so, lots of layers and shed as you go. Rub some extra anti-chafing gel on areas you are worried about chafing. Obviously watch…

Good job Nancy & Cliff. I really hope that fallen runner has recovered, I wouldn't have felt like running after that either!

No decal on the car, but I do have a necklace with a 13.1 charm. Like others have said, you wouldn't believe how many people ask what it means.

Goals for the month: Swim: 2.4 miles Bike: 56 miles Run: 50 miles Totals for the month: Swim: 0 miles Bike: 69.2 miles Run: 31.8 miles Swim tomorrow & 9 mile run Friday. Really happy I've gotten bike miles in this month finally!

The 35 mile ride is part of a charity ride. They have the 35, 50, and 100 mile rides. My dad is doing the 100 mile ride and wants me to do part of it with him, so that's why I'm contemplating the 35 mile ride. Also, if I push myself to train for the 35 mile ride, I might, *MIGHT* consider doing an Olympic tri later in the…

Texas Longhorns! I live in Arkansas which has the strongest college following I've ever seen, so I'm naturally a Razorback fan, but only if their game has no effect on my Longhorns. Hook 'Em!

Goals for the month: Swim: 2.4 miles Bike: 56 miles Run: 50 miles Totals for the month: Swim: 0 miles Bike: 56.6 miles Run: 27.3 miles Swimming this week so I'll have 2/3 done for sure. Running I'm a bit behind on...I just needed a mental break from running after my half marathon at the beginning of the month, more of a…

Watch your fiber intake. I have to eat 17g or less of fiber per day when I am running a lot of miles in a week. If it is a problem on your runs, try taking 1/2 an Immodium, that helped my problems a lot!

Circuit training is good for developing your cardio and a little strength, but the other replies are right: the only thing that will make you better at swimming, biking, and running is to swim, bike, and run. Once you are really good at those, yes, other workouts can be good, and circuit training could be viewed as…

My 4 year old does 1Ks and runs almost the whole thing. The only reason I haven't let her do anything longer is her asthma and the fact that she doesn't know how to differentiate between regular exercise heavy breathing and an oncoming asthma attack. As soon as she gets that down, hopefully when she's 5, I'll let her do…

No meets for me since high school. Too burned out, like emswanson. There isn't a local masters club within 45 minutes of me or I probably would have joined them. When I move this summer, I'll probably go ahead and join the Masters team there and compete with them.

Thanks for all of your responses! Yes, I take my amphipod with me and had plenty of water before hand so I know I wasn't dehydrated by normal standards. I will buy some of the electrolyte pills or NUUN to see if that helps. Last year was my first year of running & triathlons, so while I was working out in the heat last…

I have...but I also live in the 4th fattest state in the country so triathlons aren't popular here like they are elsewhere and it's not exactly a destination race either. I'm also in the female 20-24 age group which doesn't have a lot of competitors overall anyways. It does feel pretty good, even though I've looked at…

I've been on maintenance since November but I still track every day. It keeps me accountable and after nearly a year of tracking while losing, it is such a habit and I love the support I get on MFP!

I'm at a puny 98.8 miles for the year. Not sure if I'll make it but interesting to track it and try. Plus it's finally cycling weather (for wimps like me who don't like to bike in the cold)

Up to 44.7 for the month. You guys are doing great!!

Elliptical is not good enough. It can be used as cross training if she is already running 3-4 days per week and wants to be active on the off days. Like others said, it does not imitate the pounding you get from actually running. You can get by with running 2 days per week one week per month (recovery week) but other weeks…

Loved it. Thanks for sharing!

My first is a sprint on June 9th. I think I'm sticking with sprint distance this season but I'm not sure. I am doing the Arkansas Triathlon Series which includes 2 Olympic distance tri's I can do...I get more points for Oly distance obviously but not sure about how I would place compared to in the sprint. I'm also moving…

I use Mrs. Dash, like the generic one or the lemon pepper one depending on the veggies. It's no sodium, no calories...but lots of flavor to keep the steamed veggies healthy!
