I just completed my first 5k two weeks ago. Only goal was to finish without walking, which I accomplished. Take your time. Set your pace, enjoy the experience! Have fun!

I ran my first 5k Saturday. My goals were to not walk and to finish, that's it. I didn't care where I finished, or that my time wasn't great, or that people in their 60s and 70s finished before me. I set a goal and met it!

I had a great run! Time wasn't great but it wasnt about the time. It was about finishing it without walking. I can mark this off my bucket list now. So glad I did it. Thanks for the encouragement!

Start with not believing in Vacation mode in regards to eating. Just because you go on vacation you don't have to eat bad. I went on a cruise last year 3 weeks after I started using a personal trainer and changing my diet and I lost weight. It's a mindset. Good luck.

Looks like you've already made up your mind. I've worked with sports meds docs, you'll be better off in the long run resting. You may want to participate in this marathon but is it really worth injuring yourself further and not being able to do anything for months??? Probably not.

I cut it up add garlic with parsley, teriyaki and soy and sautée till crisp tender. My fav is summer!
