  • I had a problem with the 1200 calorie count but made sure that what I ate was good calories and I started using the 21 day fix and yu know what it took the guess work out of measuring and thinking about 1200 calories. I have lost 10lbs since I started using it. I have to have knee surgery so I have not been able to use the…
  • I agree just go with it. If it only 100 calories a day just work it in or work off!
  • Good work! You are an inspiration. Likes some of the others here my family also wonders how come I am the "normal" one in my family! A true inspiration. I too have Type 2 diabetes. The medication is worse. SO I am on insulin at night. My goal is to get of the insulin. I had a motorcycle accident in June. I have torn my…
  • Great Post! We all have our faults and no one likes them pointed out to them. But I will say if a person is eating 1200 calories and not losing weight maybe it too little. Get yourself moving and maybe increase the calorie intake a little.
  • I use a FITBIT it is not just an app. But it does sync with a smart phone and the computer. I have a FITBIT ONE. I like it because it will calculate your steps, calories and distance for stairs.
  • What worked for me is using the 21 Day fix containers. I stay with in the paramenters and I lose. I know it is measuring but it so simple.
  • I think most of us have been in your position. I have. This time I am doing much better and my husband has joined me some what. He will eat what is made for dinner. He has started to eat breakfast. You know what he says" I don't feel as moody on the days I eat breakfast." You think. Anyway love him dearly and hope we make…
  • Has he had a physical lately? if not he needs a complete physical and blood work. If he is prediabetic that needs to be looked at again.
  • You look great! did you get a new tat to celebrate?
  • Yes, I would love the help. I had to give up the gym membership and now have the home gym. Thought my husband would join me but I am a morning person and he is too tire in the evening. We will do some workoutson the weekends together.
  • Well, the puppy will certainly get you outside. There was a post earlier today where the person weighed almost 500lbs. He chose to walk in place as a start. I would suggest any movement beats no movement. As for depression I am sure you are not alone but diet and exercise can help with that believe or not. It doesn't have…
  • I use resistance bands and find the work outs on utube
  • It was not easy for me to eat 1200 calories a day. I really had to work at it. what my doctor told me was that because you are not eating enough calories your body is storing fat so that it will have something to live off of. Once I started to eat 1200 calories and more when I worked out I started to lose weight faster. It…
  • You state that it is flour you have to give up. I am assuming it is wheat flour (gluten) there are flours that are not wheat. My granddaughter cannot have gluten. We use the bread maker and make bread out of rice flour. It is not bad. There are tons of recipes online. How about having sandwiches in a wrap made from corn…
  • Patience! It is a work in progress. Every day is a new beginning! Keep your goals small and a reachable. IF they are too big you will set yourself up for failure. So you can't run or walk a block. It will come. We didn't here overnight and it is not going to happen overnight. Record you calories and food here at MyFitness…
  • It is fear of failure. She rather set her self up to fail and say" well, I tried but it didn't work so now what do you want me to do? It is emotional not mental. Carbs are comfort foods. So the more carbs we et the better we feel.
  • I need to lose that as well. Count me as your friend. I am very motivated. I got a Fitbit and I love it. It helps to keep me in check. When I find myself thinking about the elevator I think to my self “Hmm, I should take the stairs so that at the end of the day I can see how many calories I burned by doing that.” So I take…
  • I agree you only fail if you give up. Did you give up while trying quitting smoking? Congratulations that is not an easy thing to do. My husband had tried for many years and finally did it with hypnosis which by the way did not work for me to lose weight. It is all about the mindset. I agree with your husband be give it…
  • Wow you look great. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • If you continue to eat "clean" and you hate it you will revert back to old habits. We have had some people here at work do the eat anything you want up to 7:00pm. Drink tons of water. Exercise and they have lost significant amount of weight. I see these guys eat pizza, cheeseburgers. Frankly I think you just have to count…
  • Depends on what I am doing. I prefer bike shorts to work out in.
  • I felt the same way about the gym. Lucky for me the gym I belong to had a 14 week nutrition and exercise classes. AI also agree if you can afford a personal trainer for 2-3 times a week for 6 weeks you will be amazed the difference it make. It just someone to get yuo started. New Rules for Lifting is good once you have a…
  • Sounds to me that you may be in a depression spiral. Also set your goals attainable. One goal could be go to the gym 3 times a week. It takes 7 weeks to break a habit. Another goal could be to do you food diary every day. I struggle with this one. Another goal. swap out something that you have a weakness for-chocolate cake…
  • I avoid bananas and potatoes because they raise my sugar levels. Eat what you like. Oh and I avoid yogurt because it makes me gag. No kidding
  • I have your blood sugar checked!
  • I have the FitBit. I have the one that counts the stairs that I take. Which I do a lot. Others didn't have this feature. Clips to your bra.
  • All the replies are correct-"You have to make the time yourself." Why can't your husband make dinner 1-2 nights a week. Or let him know that before you start dinner you are going to take a 15-20 minute walk. IF you do that a few days a week it will help motivate you. I get up at 5:00am and workout either at home or at the…
  • Try adding one veggie a day into your meal plan. Remember calories in calories out. Ask to look at other members food logs you may find some interesting foods. Or ask them to look at yours to make suggestions. I never thought I would like humus but I do it is a nice change. Ask members to be your friend again you may find…
  • I am close to 60 and I am restarting the MFP again. I too had events that caused me to gain weight that I had lost. But it is a new year and new me! It is not easy the second, third or forth time around but it will be worth it.
