I've been holding off on a new scale for the same reason. My scale is always about 10 lbs less than what the one at the doctor's office says, but I figured so long as I always used the same scale, it was fine - it's not the number - it's the start and finish difference. But now I can step on it 3x in a row and there will…

I get up and walk at work. If I'm walking to the cafeteria, I walk the opposite way and then down the furthest steps before turning and heading to the cafe. If I go to the restroom (and it's not super-urgent) - I take the stairs & go to one on a different floor. Park further away from the building. Those are all little…

What a difference! You must feel great! Very cool dress as well.

I was surprised to see things like food prep listed as exercise. The only one I do use on occasion is light gardening - because I hate gardening, I don't do it on a daily basis, so when I plant myself out there & I'm digging out weeds on an 85 degree day, raking out the flower beds, walking all over the yard & bending up…

I'm 47, diagnosed w/ PCOS around age 40. No kids by choice anyway, but all that birth control money seems a bit of a waste now.

I had a dream a few days ago about stacking up about 3 inches of pringles and trying to get them all into my mouth. What is with the Pringles? I think we shouldn't beat ourselves up for when we do things like that. Since when do we have to do everything 100%? I'd love for my house to be clean 100% of the time, but life…

This is how I am approaching it as well. I simply tell myself "I am changing my life." Much like if I changed careers, or opted to marry/divorce/have kids - major life decisions. I am deciding to eat better, exercise more, and BE different than I have been. I have not once felt deprived. Because I am not on a diet, I can…

Welcome! I've only been doing MFP since May, but I've lost about the same amount as you & am interested in a healthier lifestyle as well - not a diet - but trying to change HOW I live my life. So far so good! It's very exciting! I would love to visit Norway some day - looks lovely on TV!

Woo hoo! I hope to join you in the next week or two!

You lost 12 lbs in 16 days and you are asking if you are doing this wrong? I don't get it.

My highest ever was 230 some years ago. I found out I had PCOS, got on metformin, dropped to around 200. I fluctuated there at 200-205 for several years, but in the last 18 months went up to 225 again. This past Xmas my doctor (who is on me every year about my weight) told me he wanted me to join WW and lose 20 lbs by next…

I'm looking to change scales as well. I weigh myself 3x in a row, and the range is 7-10 lbs depending on if I have my heels closer together, further apart, if I'm standing a little more to the front/back of the scale. So far, I've been recording the average of the 3 weights every week to document my loss. I just haven't…

Nature's perfect dessert is fruit. A muffin or cupcake would have a high carb load. At least fruit is natural sugar/natural carb. You can grill watermelon slices or grill pineapple slices. We love grilled pineapple w/ a little balsamic vinegar drizzled over it.

How would you feel if you gained 15 lbs since February? I don't think it matters if it's fast. It matters that it HAPPENS!
-
You can put it on an english muffin & broil it (tomato slice on top too if you like that). My grandma used to add it to macaroni noodles & bake it - cottage cheese DOES melt. I usually just go w/ fruit though.

A bubble bath. Quiet time with a book. Give myself a facial or a mani/pedi. Go out for a mani/pedi. Time at the beach.

I have PCOS and from what I have read on line, it does seem that going with healthier/ non-processed carbs is helpful. I have had weight issues for years and this is the first thing that has worked for me since my PCOS diagnosis 8 years ago. Look into diabetic diets and kind of go along w/ that. It's not impossible to lose…

Next time: Give them the dollar for the charity - skip the blizzard! I have found my tastes changing the longer I do this.

It did take me a few weeks of exercising a lot to gain more calories so I could eat more before eventually I realized i was full without eating all of my exercise calories, and sometimes full on days w/ no exercise, and eating no extra calories. That said, I looked at about a week of your diary & it does seem very…

22 lbs is my 2 smaller cats. I can't imagine going for a walk or bike ride while holding those 2 cats.

I asked my niece at Vail resorts your question. Her reply: Your friend would need to purchase a lift ticket (not a season pass, but still pretty pricey) to gain any kind of mountain access if they'd like to try out skiing. I don't think lessons are really required anywhere, but to get out on the snow they'd need a lift…

Evergreen is really cute. I stay w/ my friends in suburban Lakewood, but it's a great jumping off point, right near Red Rocks amphitheatre. I always thought Idaho Springs was pretty low rent, but they have fixed up their downtown pretty nicely. We had dinner there at Tommyknockers & at BeauJo's last time.

I just returned from a Fri-Sat vacation (8 days). I could not track while I was gone (no easy access to PC/ don't have a fancy phone). I made my goal to "stay the same" - so I would try to choose wisely, get a fair amount of activity in (horseback riding, hiking, swimming) and still allow myself some treats (couple…

I'm not a skiier, so I can't help you there. My niece, however, works as a vacation coordinator for Vail Resorts. I stopped in to see her when I was out there last week & she tells me she does all sorts of vacation planning for people, helping them pick which resort will suit them the best, etc. She is an avid snowboarder…

I just got back from CO last week - we go every 3 years to visit friends. So, we normally stay with our friends, so no real help on accomodations, but: Denver airport is great - easy/in out. Pike's Peak area is beautiful & one of our favorite areas. You would head south towards Colorado Springs - maybe an hour S of Denver…

I have to change it up. Sometimes I go for walks/hikes, other times I ride my bike. Other days, if the weather is good, I swim. If the weather is bad, I might do a video, or I might do my recumbant bike. I have to have choices & not do the same thing every day. Even if I do a video, I rarely do the same one 2 days in a row.

Congrats! Going from a 22 to a 16W is a BIG DEAL! You can buy stuff in a "normal" store now - not necessarily always in the plus size dept. I was an 18/20 at my highest, currently at a 16, so I'm right there with you.
